Jewels has been out of work since February, and before that, she had only been under saddle for about a month.

So yes… she’s still very green and has so much to learn… but I am SO, SO proud of her. 🥹🩷

We’ll get there! 💪🏻
Rome wasn’t built in a day either, so for now, it’s all about putting in the miles and gaining experience together. 🐴

🌤️ GOOD MORNING from Blue Smokey Stable! 💙🐴

Our stallions are now back home and doing absolutely amazing! 😍 They’re clearly enjoying being back in their familiar surroundings, having their own pasture, and of course being home again.

But honestly… I missed them so much! 🥹💙 After such a busy breeding season, it feels extra special to have them back home. And the best part? You can tell by everything that they’re loving being home just as much as I am. 🥰

The peace and quiet, their familiar surroundings, and being able to simply do their own thing again… it’s clear that our boys are very happy to be home! 💙

A rollercoaster. An emotional journey you find yourself walking through. A feeling you simply don’t know how to put into words… That’s what I’ve been going through with this mare over the past few months.

To put it briefly… Jewels came into our lives last September, after I had seen her advertised on 2dehands several times. Something about her caught my attention. She had something. And when I saw her in person, I completely fell in love with her grullo color… and with her.

An insecure horse with absolutely no knowledge of the outside world, yet with enough character to take on the whole world.

She has now been with us for almost a year. And so many times I’ve thought: I can’t give her what she needs. I just don’t feel that connection with her…

And yet, I kept asking myself: then why is she the absolute best friend of my beloved mare Chewie ,the mare I genuinely connect with from the bottom of my heart and soul?

Yesterday, the plan was to lunge the stallions with the Pessoa. Jewels was standing at the front of my stable aisle, looking at me and repeatedly nodding and shaking her head at me… And that’s when I decided to put those feelings aside and thought: Come on, let’s take her.

And once again, she gave me that confirmation that she came into my life for a reason and that she’s simply meant to stay.

As for the path we’re going to walk together, I’m going to give it some more time. We’ll take it slowly, one step at a time. But I am incredibly proud of her, and we’ll get there at our own pace. ❤️

And if you’re wondering why I’m sharing this on the page… well, I’m simply a person who doesn’t like wearing masks. And I believe that sometimes you just have to be brave enough to speak openly about the things that don’t feel good too.

Please give me your advice on a really sturdy fly rug for this currywurst on legs… 🤣 This is yet another fly rug that he’s managed to destroy!

We really don’t want to leave him without one, because he and Miles literally get bitten until they bleed by the flies at our stable… 😩

So please, help a desperate stallion owner out! 😅🤯

Hello, hello, dear followers! 💙

First of all, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who chose one of our stallions this breeding season. Thank you for believing in our program and our boys once again. Every single year, I’m amazed by the trust and support we receive.

This morning, we hit the road… and yes, we brought our two handsome boys back home! 🤩

Unfortunately, that means the breeding season has officially come to an end for our boys.

Did we intentionally decide to finish at the end of July?
Actually, yes. For me personally, it was the right time to stop, and it was also the right decision for the stallions. We expect around 10 foals from each stallion this season, so I couldn’t be happier with the results!

So, what’s next?

🛁 First of all… a very thorough bath, because they’ve managed to get themselves quite dirty! 💩

Then it’s back to work and back into training for both of them.

So incredibly proud of our Miles! 💙

Once again, this amazing boy has proven the outstanding quality of his semen!

Shipped on Tuesday and delivered to Hungary on Wednesday right in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures reaching 38°C outside. 🥵

The mare had already ovulated on Wednesday, but we inseminated her anyway… and just look at that! 😍

Another Miles baby is on the way! 💪🏻💙

💙 Dearest Cassandra Naert, dear Ace & dear Shady 💙
On behalf of Blue Smokey Stable, we share this message with heavy hearts 😔

One of our clients experienced an unimaginable nightmare yesterday. After a terrible evening, she had to say goodbye to her foal Ace (a descendant of Smokey). Due to a double leg fracture, she had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go — a loss no horse lover should ever have to experience.

On top of that, her other horse Shady was also injured. Thankfully, Shady survived, but she had only just completed an intensive rehabilitation journey after a serious wound and now finds herself back in this nightmare after yesterday.

Anyone who knows Cassandra knows how much love, care, and dedication she gives to her horses every single day. Their wellbeing always comes first, which makes this heartbreak even harder to carry.

As a stallion owner, but above all as a friend, we want to support her through this incredibly difficult time. That is why, on behalf of Blue Smokey Stable, we have decided to start a crowdfunding campaign — to give her a little breathing room and, most importantly, to show her she is not alone.

No contribution is too small. Sharing this post or leaving a kind message means more than words can say ❤️

We cannot bring little Ace back, but together we can show that grief does not have to be carried alone.
