‼️When you attend a junior rugby league event, please remember: ‼️
• Respect all referees, particularly junior referees wearing green socks.
• Do not question, abuse, intimidate or swear at officials.
• Allow referees to learn and develop just as players do.
• Follow the directions of ground managers and support them when they address inappropriate behaviour.
• Raise genuine concerns through the appropriate club or competition process, not from the sideline.
• Lead by example and model the standards expected within our game.
❗️First and Final Warning Procedure❗️
To protect players, referees and everyone attending our venues, the following measures will apply:
• If a team is warned for swearing on the field, that warning will be treated as the team's first and final warning. If the swearing continues, the team will be asked to leave the venue.
• If any coaching staff member or parent is warned for abuse directed at a match official, that warning will be treated as their first and final warning. If they are spoken to again for match official abuse, they will be asked to leave the venue.
🚫 Consequences for Repeated Offences
Attendance at carnivals is a privilege, not an automatic right. Teams, coaching staff, parents and supporters are expected to uphold the standards of behaviour required at all times.
• Where a team is involved in repeated incidents of poor behaviour, including swearing, abuse of match officials or failure to follow the directions of ground management, the conduct may be formally reported to QRL and taken into consideration when future Permission to Participate applications are assessed.
• QRL reserves the right not to approve a Permission to Participate application where a team or club continually fails to meet the behavioural standards expected at QRL-sanctioned carnivals and events.
