Good luck to all our club athletes competing for selection in the team to represent our district at the Rocky District Trials in July. 🤞🤞🤞

Even the local birdlife are looking forward to the KCD trials. 😁

It has been another big week for Keppel Coast Athletics, with so many local primary and secondary schools having their annual carnivals.

These competitions select school teams to compete at the Keppel Coast District Trials for 10 to 12 years athletes at Primary Schools.

A team selected from that competition then go on to compete at the Rockhampton and District Trials.

Athletes in High School, ages 12 to 18, have their chance to compete at the Rockhampton and District Trials by doing well at their respective school trials.

We have had an amazing number of club athletes so far excel in their school carnivals, winning age championships, breaking school records, competing to the best of their abilities and, most importantly… enjoying the experience, the camaraderie and the sportsmanship that track and field competition provides.

Other great results were from three of our evergreen club athletes, competing for the last time at Capricornia Cross Country Trials.

Nicola Balderson on her first run back from injury won Silver🥈in the 18 years 6km.

Ever consistent Ella Bain won Silver🥈in the 17 years girls.

The Fun Flying, Khobi Scanlan won Bronze🥉in the 17 years boys.

Another stellar day yesterday for our hardworking cross country athletes. The Capricornia Trials, held on the CQU course in Rockhampton, saw students from the Mackay, Port Curtis, Central Highlands and Rockhampton Districts competing in age groups from 10 to 18 years in wet muddy conditions for selection in a team to represent the Region at the State Championships to be held this year near Toowoomba.
Our club athletes ran brilliantly. 🙌

So well in fact, we may have to look at chartering an aircraft to get them and their supporters to Toowoomba in July! 😂

There were medals of all colours, PBs, and so many team selections showing our club athletes are amongst the best in Central Queensland. 🥇🥈🥉

The camaraderie and sportsmanship on display and the support from our club families were all exemplary. 🤩

The smiles in the accompanying photos tell the story. 🥰
