Willow Tree Lions club Changeover dinner was held at Club Willow Tree. Saturday night, 27th June.

Charter member Noel Saunders will stay as president. About forty five people attended the annual dinner. $11,600 was handed out to various community organisations. The meal cooked by Therese Butler was superb and it was a terrific night. Adam Sevil was too clever in the heads and tail trivia.

BLACKVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL 150TH CELEBRATIONS

We are excited to announce that local favourite Sarah Head will be providing the live entertainment at our 150th Anniversary Dinner Dance on Saturday 19 September 2026!

Join us as we celebrate 150 years of memories, friendships and community spirit.

The celebrations begin from 12pm with plenty happening throughout the day:

🚌 12:00pm – Catch up with old friends, enjoy a P&C BBQ and take a guided bus tour to visit the original Blackville PS buildings.

🎤 2:00pm – Official 150th Anniversary Ceremony.

🏏 4:00pm – Relive the good old days with old-fashioned games and family fun.

💃 6:00pm – Dinner Dance featuring live entertainment by Sarah Head and delicious catering by Woolibah Catering.

Whether you attended Blackville Public School, taught here, worked here, have been part of our wonderful community or would just like to come and celebrate this special milestone, we'd love you to join us as we celebrate.

Willow Tree & district OAM recipients acknowledgement dinner.

Saturday night at Club Willow Tree was the Willow Tree & district OAM recipients acknowledgement dinner. Five great men were honoured for their service to the community. Neville Holz. Ted Wilkinson. Lindsay Maybury. Earl Kelaher and Dick Cameron.

I wished I'd set up a camera and mic and recorded all their speeches. All five men gave a great speech one at a time about their achievements and why they have been awarded an OAM, and I think everyone learned something new.

A lovely smorgasbord meal was served by Therese and her crew including pork, beef and chicken and the night was a huge success. There was 65 guests in attendance.

Did you know that lil ole Willow Tree has 3 OAM recipients!! That’s right…3!! AND we have another 2 in the Willow Tree district. That’s a HUGE achievement in a tiny town.

Come along to a night of acknowledgment & celebration, I’m pretty sure they’d all agree with the old saying “it takes a village…”
