A HOLIDAY FOR OUR SECRETARY

The club wishes our Secretary, Roy, an enjoyable trip to family and friends back in the UK for the next few months. May the English summer be a bit cooler than our last summer.

In his absence Nyan will be looking after our Club Secretary role.

Nyan can be contacted to deal with any issues that Roy would normally help with.

Another successful SUBIACO OPEN was held this weekend albeit minus the 90m event due to Sunday's weather event experienced.

There was some great close shooting done by Benchresters with Clive our 2026 Champion only dropping one point over both days and the top five only separated by a handful of points.

A big thankyou to our CRO for the weekend, Basil who was well supported by his team. And also to Regina for making sure her scoring team managed the very wet targets on Sunday were also done quickly. And we must thank Brett for looking after the canteen as well.

The biggest thanks is to all our competitors who accepted the challenge of competing when the weather forecast of cyclonic winds and rain was not very appealing for shooting. But their results showed how successful it can be done very well.

Shooting Australia is joining the Australian Sports Commission in giving 'Three Cheers for Volunteers' this National Volunteer Week (18th - 24th May).

National Volunteer Week is an important opportunity to thank these unsung heroes for their commitment to making our sport accessible and enjoyable for all!

Anton is off to the WSPS World Cup in Serbia.

3 athletes have been selected in accordance with the selection criteria to compete at the Novi Sad 2026 WSPS World Cup, which will take place in Novi Sad, Serbia between the 21st and 31st of July.

***TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT***

7 junior pistol and rifle athletes have been selected in accordance with the selection criteria to compete at the ISSF Pistol/Rifle/Shotgun Junior World Championships in Suhl, Germany (16 - 26 June).

A further team announcement of the junior shotgun athletes travelling to this Junior World Championships will be made post the third and final selection event being held in conjunction with the VIC ISSF Shotgun State Titles (22 - 24 May).
