🌟 MASTERS NATIONALS 2026 - BRISBANE 🌟
What a week for the Rocky Rays 💙
The Masters Swimming Australia National Championships, hosted by Queensland, delivered everything we love about our sport — challenge, camaraderie, and a whole lot of heart.
Our Rays showed up in true Rocky style: backing each other, pushing limits, chasing personal bests, and celebrating every single win — big or small. This is what our club spirit is all about.
And the results speak for themselves:
✨ Darrin – 16 events | 7 PBs | 1 medal
✨ Lyle – 10 events | 8 medals
✨ Ingrid – 18 events | 12 medals | 11 PBs | multiple state records
✨ Ian – 13 events | 10 PBs | 1 medal
✨ Kim – 11 events | 7 PBs | 2 medals
✨ Cassandra – 14 events | 13 PBs | 2 medals
✨ Tanya – 16 events | 11 medals | 4 PBs
✨ John – 20 events | 8 PBs | 2 medals
✨ Erica – 7 events | 3 medals | 2 PBs
✨ Keith – 9 events | 9 PBs | 1 medal
✨ Shannon – 19 events | 11 PBs | 3 medals
Our women’s 4x50 freestyle team also broke a State Record taking almost 2 seconds off the current record held by Claremont.
But beyond the medals and PBs, it’s the moments in between that matter most — the cheers behind the blocks, the many laughs poolside, the nerves, tears, fears about bull sharks and stonefish in the OWS and the pride in wearing our team colours.
This week didn’t just bring results — it brought us closer, stronger and more connected as a team.
And here’s the exciting part…
Nationals are coming to Perth in April next year 🥳 that’s 12 months to set some goals and work towards them.
If you’ve ever thought about giving it a go — this is the perfect sign. Whether it’s your first race or your fiftieth, there’s a place for you on pool deck with the Rays. You don’t have to be fast, you just have to give it a go. You race others the same speed as you regardless of age or gender.
💙 Fast. Fierce. Fun. Food. Friendship. 💙
That’s the Rocky Rays way.
Also a special mention to Coach Dana - she was also there but racing as part of the ADF team she has spent many months creating, so much hard work in addition to her ultramarathon training and life in general. Dana had a fabulous meet managing not only her own heavy program but also coordinating her team. She looked super strong in the water and her results reflected this.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers, you represented Rocky Rays so well on a National level, we are so proud of you all!
Thank you to Masters Swimming Queensland for a fantastic event - very well organised in a world class facility.
Bring on Perth 2027 💪🏼
