❄️ WINTER IS HERE ❄️

Hello Rocky Rays,

We hope you all had a safe and restful long weekend.

Just a quick winter update:

⛈️ Due to swimmer and coach feedback, training hours have slightly changed. Please see your email from 21/5 for a full rundown. Wednesdays are on hold for now, Tues/Thurs is now a 6:30pm start, Tuesdays are inside and Thursdays are outside.

⛈️ There will be no formal training coinciding with the July school holidays to give our coaches and swimmers a winter break. Of course feel free to do your own sessions and shout out if you want a program.

⛈️ Please save the date and comment below to RSVP to the Winter Solstice swim. Big thank you to all of you who have emailed so far 🙏 this year Masters Swimming WA are not doing a solstice event or theme so there are no competitions to enter or swims to log. Join us for a bonus training session and BBQ brekky afterwards.

⛈️ Wedding bells are ringing this weekend for our members Gillian and Colin - we wish you a very happily ever after 🩵

Stay warm and dry Rocky Rays and we hope to see you on Sunday 21st June at 9am. Please let us know you’re coming if you’d like a bacon and egg roll afterwards!

See you in the water soon 🏊🏼‍♀️

We would like to give a little shoutout to Kylie at Little Garage - Decals & Vinyl who supplied our fabulous “away” team shirt for us for the 50th Nationals held in Queensland.

Nothing was too much trouble - she matched our design brief, incorporated our bylaws and created a Rocky Rays shirt that we were so proud to wear!

For all your signage, custom print stickers or apparel please don’t hesitate to contact this amazing business located in Beeliar.

Thank you Kylie for helping us to stand out, we really appreciate it 🩵

🌟 MASTERS NATIONALS 2026 - BRISBANE 🌟

What a week for the Rocky Rays 💙

The Masters Swimming Australia National Championships, hosted by Queensland, delivered everything we love about our sport — challenge, camaraderie, and a whole lot of heart.

Our Rays showed up in true Rocky style: backing each other, pushing limits, chasing personal bests, and celebrating every single win — big or small. This is what our club spirit is all about.

And the results speak for themselves:

✨ Darrin – 16 events | 7 PBs | 1 medal
✨ Lyle – 10 events | 8 medals
✨ Ingrid – 18 events | 12 medals | 11 PBs | multiple state records
✨ Ian – 13 events | 10 PBs | 1 medal
✨ Kim – 11 events | 7 PBs | 2 medals
✨ Cassandra – 14 events | 13 PBs | 2 medals
✨ Tanya – 16 events | 11 medals | 4 PBs
✨ John – 20 events | 8 PBs | 2 medals
✨ Erica – 7 events | 3 medals | 2 PBs
✨ Keith – 9 events | 9 PBs | 1 medal
✨ Shannon – 19 events | 11 PBs | 3 medals

Our women’s 4x50 freestyle team also broke a State Record taking almost 2 seconds off the current record held by Claremont.

But beyond the medals and PBs, it’s the moments in between that matter most — the cheers behind the blocks, the many laughs poolside, the nerves, tears, fears about bull sharks and stonefish in the OWS and the pride in wearing our team colours.

This week didn’t just bring results — it brought us closer, stronger and more connected as a team.

And here’s the exciting part…

Nationals are coming to Perth in April next year 🥳 that’s 12 months to set some goals and work towards them.

If you’ve ever thought about giving it a go — this is the perfect sign. Whether it’s your first race or your fiftieth, there’s a place for you on pool deck with the Rays. You don’t have to be fast, you just have to give it a go. You race others the same speed as you regardless of age or gender.

💙 Fast. Fierce. Fun. Food. Friendship. 💙

That’s the Rocky Rays way.

Also a special mention to Coach Dana - she was also there but racing as part of the ADF team she has spent many months creating, so much hard work in addition to her ultramarathon training and life in general. Dana had a fabulous meet managing not only her own heavy program but also coordinating her team. She looked super strong in the water and her results reflected this.

Congratulations to all of our swimmers, you represented Rocky Rays so well on a National level, we are so proud of you all!

Thank you to Masters Swimming Queensland for a fantastic event - very well organised in a world class facility.

Bring on Perth 2027 💪🏼

🌭 THANK YOU ROCKY RAYS 🌭

As you all know, today we had a fundraising Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings in Rockingham.

To say it was BUSY was a huge understatement - today was our most profitable sausage sizzle ever!

And we couldn’t have done it without all of you in the photos below who gave up a few hours of your long weekend to lend a hand! We really appreciate your selflessness and team spirit. Thank you so very much!

And of course the biggest thank you to our Prez Michael who did the majority of the prep himself, amazing! Thank you Team Jenkins for giving up your weekend away to help your club - from cutting onions, setting up, and giving up valuable time to help, you are both a great example of club camaraderie. Thank you!

And to one one our Nationals/Worlds Swimmer who came to visit and gave us a $100 cash donation - you are just the BEST thank you 🙏

Such a great team vibe today, thank you all so much

We have another one in October, hopefully we have all recovered in time 😆
