Welcome to Aussie Hoops, Basketball Australia’s official introductory program for 5-10 year olds and their families.

Aussie Hoops is a national program which provides an environment where children of all abilities can achieve on the court and reap the rewards of skill development, enhanced self-esteem, social co-operation and grassroots sports participation. Aussie Hoops introduces children to basketball in a structured and accredited environment that connects our game at the grassroots through to the elite level.

We’re excited to announce Basketball Mount Gambier Mount Gambier from Basketball South Australia as the Ford Aussie Hoops Centre of the Month for May!

Basketball Mount Gambier has done an outstanding job creating a fun, inclusive, and community-focused Ford Aussie Hoops program. Their strong growth in participation, commitment to providing age-appropriate experiences, and ability to engage families as coaches and volunteers has helped build a positive environment where children can develop their skills and confidence.

By fostering strong connections with participants, families, and the local basketball community, including the Mount Gambier Pioneers NBL1 team, Basketball Mount Gambier has created an enjoyable experience that keeps children engaged and excited to return each week.

We’re excited to announce Yarrawonga Mulwala Basketball Association as the Ford Aussie Hoops Centre of the Month for March 🏀

Coming from a small regional community on the Victorian / New South Wales border, Yarrawonga Mulwala Basketball Association continues to achieve outstanding participation numbers within Ford Aussie Hoops and is a fantastic example of a country association punching well above its weight.

Through the hard work of their volunteers, coaches, and wider basketball community, they have built a program that is fun, engaging, and welcoming for participants of all abilities. Their strong local support and commitment to creating a positive experience each week has helped foster a genuine love of basketball among young participants in the region.

The association’s continued growth and strong community connection highlight the important role regional basketball associations play in growing the game across Australia.
