Cass Racing Cass Racing began in mid 2024 when 7-year-old Xavier lined up for his very first race. One race in & we were hooked, & there was no turning back.

From the moment he hit the track, it was clear he had a natural talent for racing.

🏁 2026 WA State Titles — that’s a wrap! 🏁

What an amazing three days at Great Southern Kart Club!

Lacey hit the track Saturday for her very first State Titles and absolutely smashed her Midget races. She was fast, confident and had an absolute ball out there. 💜

Xavier exceeded every expectation we had going into the weekend. Up against some seriously tough competition from WA and SA, and being one of, if not the youngest in the Junior Heavy class, he showed us just how far he has come.

There were plenty of highs and lows across the six heats, including an incredible 2nd place that we won’t forget anytime soon.

He finished his final heat in 10th, which was enough to see him break into the top 10 and finish an amazing 9th overall! 🏁

We couldn’t be prouder of both kids and we’ve taken away so much from this weekend, experience, lessons, confidence and some pretty awesome memories.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us, helped us when we needed it and cheered Xavier and Lacey on. The people around us are a massive part of what makes these weekends so special. ❤️

🏁 WA STATE TITLES – DAY 2 DONE! 🏁

Well… Day 2 certainly gave us a bit of everything! Some seriously fast racing, a massive confidence boost, a few bribery attempts 😂 and unfortunately, a tough way to finish the day.

💜 LACEY #43 – MIDGETS

Today was Lacey’s turn to officially hit the track for her very first State Titles, and our little #43 did an amazing job! 🥰🏁

There ended up being six opportunities to race today. We tried our absolute hardest to negotiate, bribe and sweet-talk her into doing the extra two that were thrown in… but apparently even we have our limits when it comes to Lacey negotiations. 😂😂

So four races it was, and the four she did were super fast! 🔥

She got out there, gave it plenty, had fun and showed some great speed. For her first ever State Titles, we couldn’t ask for much more. 💜

🩵 XAVIER #18 – JUNIOR HEAVYS

Xavier started his day from the back of the grid and worked his way through to finish 11th.

But then came the race that we won’t be forgetting anytime soon…

2ND PLACE!! 🥈🔥🔥

And bloody hell — WHAT. A. RACE.

We have honestly never seen Xavier quite race like that before.

He was fearless. He was controlled. And he was BLOODY FAST! 🔥

The confidence and the determination were something else. He absolutely sent it when he needed to, but still kept it controlled and drove one hell of a race.

Watching him cross that line in 2nd at the WA State Titles was a pretty bloody special moment. 🥹🩵

Unfortunately, racing has a habit of bringing you straight back down again.

The final race of the day ended in DNF after he was hit from behind, and understandably that crushed the spirits a little after such an incredible race beforehand. 💔

But tomorrow we get another chance.

There’s still more racing to come, and hopefully Xavier can put today’s ending behind him, remember just how bloody well he raced earlier in the day and head back out there with that same confidence.

Because after watching that 2nd-place race, we know exactly what he’s capable of. 💪🔥

One more day. One more opportunity to give it everything and finish our first WA State Titles weekend on a high.

🏁 **WA STATE TITLES – DAY 1 DONE!** 🏁

Day 1 at Wagin is complete, and today it was just Xavier hitting the track. 🩵🖤

The rain threatened us throughout the day, but thankfully we managed to get some racing in!

Practice definitely didn’t start the way we’d hoped. Xavier hit a hole in the track which threw the chain, and suddenly it was all hands on deck to get the kart sorted and get him back out there. 🔧😬

A HUGE thank you to Geoff and Trent from Koyote Dirt Karts for jumping straight in when we needed you, and to Dan, Mat and Jared for getting stuck in and sorting out the wheel alignment. We seriously appreciate having such an awesome group of people around us who are always willing to lend a hand. ❤️

Once we finally got Xavier back on track, his first heat had a bit of everything! He had some issues at the start which saw him drop right back to 13th, but instead of letting that get to him, he put his head down and started working his way back through the field.

A few bloody great overtakes later, he crossed the line in 7th! 🙌

Heat 2 was a little tougher and definitely put a dent in the confidence after he got caught up behind a bit of argy-bargy on track. But he kept going, fought his way through it and finished the race with some more really solid overtakes under his belt. 💪

Not a perfect first day, but that’s racing, and there were still plenty of positives to take away from it.

Tomorrow is a brand new day and this time we’ve got BOTH Cass Racing karts hitting the track! 🙌

🏁 WAGIN… HERE WE COME! 🏁

Well, the waiting is finally over, it’s STATE TITLES TIME! 🏆🔥

The caravan is packed, the karts are loaded, and Cass Racing is officially Wagin bound! 🩵🖤

It feels like we’ve been counting down to this weekend forever, and now it’s finally here! We’ve got three huge days of racing ahead for Xavier, with Lacey joining the action on Saturday.

🩵 XAVIER #18 – JUNIOR HEAVYS
💜 LACEY #43 – MIDGETS

This one is pretty special for both of them. ❤️

For Lacey, it will be her very first State Titles, another huge experience for our little #43 who just loves getting out there and having fun!

For Xavier, it’s his first State Titles in Junior Heavys, and his first States racing in a fully competitive, points earning class! 🩵 We can’t wait to see him get out there, give it everything and enjoy the experience.

No matter what the results sheet looks like at the end of the weekend, we’re already bloody proud of these two.

But as exciting as the racing is, one of the best parts of the weekend ahead will be everything that happens off the track, camping together, the laughs, the friendships, hanging out with our karting family and making memories with some pretty awesome people. ❤️

That’s what this sport is really all about.

🏁 3 SLEEPS TO GO! 🏁

The countdown is officially ON! 🔥

Just 3 more sleeps until we load up and head to Great Southern Kart Club in Wagin for the 2026 WA State Titles! 🏆🩵🖤

On Thursday, we’ll be hitting the road with the karts and caravan loaded, ready to set up our pit bay, get ourselves settled in and make sure everything is prepped and ready for a massive three days of racing! 🙌

It’s pretty exciting to think this weekend is finally here.

For both kids, it’s all about getting out there, giving it everything they’ve got and enjoying the experience of racing at the WA State Titles. 🏁

There’ll no doubt be some nerves and plenty of excitement, but we absolutely cannot wait!

Well, the rain held off and we managed to get a full day of racing in for our final hit-out before the State Titles! 🙌🩵🖤

💜 LACEY #43 – MIDGETS
Our poor little racer wasn’t feeling 100% on Saturday, but you certainly wouldn't have known it once she put the helmet on! 😂

Lacey absolutely FLEW through all four races, giving it everything she had and once again showing just how much her confidence has grown. 🏁

🩵 XAVIER #18 – JUNIOR HEAVYS
Xavier had a strong and consistent day on track, exactly what we wanted from our final race meet before States.

He drove smart, and put together four solid races, finishing the day with a fantastic 2ND OVERALL! 🥈

A great result and a pretty good confidence boost heading into the biggest weekend on our calendar!

Now it’s time for everyone to recharge the batteries, give everything one final check and get ready to do it all again next weekend.

Because next time we hit the track…

🏁 ONE LAST HIT-OUT BEFORE STATES! 🏁

With States getting closer, this weekend is our last chance to get some valuable track time in, test a few things and make sure everything is ready to go before the big one. 🔧

There’s no better way to finish our preparation than with another day doing what we love.

What a great day to be back on track! ☀️🩵🖤

Both kids were more than ready to get back behind the wheel and get some laps in.

💜 LACEY #43 – MIDGETS
Another fantastic day for Lacey, completing all four races and showing some great speed throughout the day! 🙌

She continues to grow in confidence every time she gets behind the wheel, and most importantly, she had an absolute ball out there doing what she loves, going fast! 🏁

🩵 XAVIER #18 – JUNIOR HEAVYS
Xavier’s results definitely don’t tell the whole story!

This was Xavier’s first race day with a redesigned steering column and running a different engine. For us, a big part of the day was about testing, learning and seeing how the changes performed under race conditions.

And there were some very promising signs, Xavier managed to set the second fastest lap time of the day in Junior Heavys! 🔥👏

We now have plenty to go through, a few tweaks to make and some things to fine-tune as we continue preparing the kart for the State Titles. 🏆

Days like this aren’t always about where you finish. Sometimes they’re about testing, learning and finding those little improvements that can make all the difference when it counts.

A great day of racing, plenty learnt and two happy kids at the end of it. 🩵🖤

Now it’s back to the shed to make a few tweaks and keep building towards States! 🔧🏁
