Clips in or clips out?
It’s a little detail that can make a big difference.
When fastening rug clips, whether they’re on leg straps, chest straps or neck rugs, we always clip IN towards the horse, rather than outwards.
Why?
A clip facing outwards creates an unnecessary opportunity for it to catch or hook onto something - wire, a gate, fencing or anything else your horse decides to investigate.
Clipping in might take that extra second (and sometimes an extra bit of fiddling!), but when it comes to horses, we’re big believers in removing avoidable risks wherever we can.
It’s a simple habit and one we’re pretty firm on at JS Equestrian.
But we know there are two camps on this one… 👀
