Your hard work, dedication and support help keep our rodeo & campdraft community strong. From loading horses and towing floats to fixing gear, preparing the grounds, travelling countless kilometres and offering encouragement from the sidelines—your contribution does not go unnoticed.

Sometimes it starts with a little pony, a pair of boots and a love of horses that lasts a lifetime.

For almost 60 years, Taralga Rodeo has been a place where generations have come together — where kids grow up around the yards, families return year after year, and a love of rodeo is passed down.

Every event tells a story. Every competitor brings their own. And some stories are only just beginning.

As we head towards our 60th Anniversary in 2027, we’re celebrating all the moments — big and small — that make Taralga Rodeo part of our community.

🤠 ROAD TO 60 🤠

The best stories don’t sit in archives—they live in photo albums, family collections and the memories of those who were there.

A big thanks to Naomi Bennett for sharing these great photographs from 1978 & 1981 and for allowing us to share this memory as part of our Road to 60 🙏

“Taralga will always hold a special place in my family's history, not only did my Dad, Terry Bennett, compete there for many years, my sisters and I competed in mutton busting in the early 80's and many a barrel race in the years since. His granddaughters Imogen and Isabelle, and grandsons, Wyatt and Logan continue a 3-generation legacy of competing at Tarlaga Rodeo.
Taralga was the last rodeo my dad ever competed at in the Novice Barrel Race, I think you will find if he wasn't at the very first Taralga Rodeo he was prob at one not long after that”
