What happens when the last squash courts on the Lower North Shore disappear?
Norths Cammeray has announced plans to close the squash courts in June, ending more than 65 years of squash at this venue.
For many of us, these courts are far more than just a facility. They are where we have played pennant, trained, introduced kids to squash, and built friendships over many years. I have personally played there for over 15 years, and it would be incredibly sad to see them disappear.
If these courts close, the Lower North Shore could be left with no squash courts at all.
A petition has been started asking Norths Cammeray to pause the closure and properly examine proposals to increase usage of the courts.
