A great night celebrating the people, performances and partnerships behind the 2026 NSW Formula Ford Championship. 🏆

On Saturday 12 September, the Formula Ford community came together at the Buena Hotel, Mosman for the annual presentation evening. A fitting chance to recognise a huge season of close racing, hard work and commitment across the paddock.

We were proud to see our Anglo drivers recognised on the night:

Not every performance improvement comes out of a box. Sometimes it starts as a sheet of aluminium on the workbench. 👨‍🔧🧰

We’re currently fabricating a custom airbox for our 2-Seater.
The new engine runs a different inlet-manifold design to the previous unit. Instead of the older cylindrical throttle bodies, this setup uses rectangular throttle bodies so the old airbox was never going to be a simple bolt-on job.

The new airbox is being made specifically to suit the engine, the car and the available space. A cleaner path for the air into the throttle bodies means better airflow and, ultimately, better performance where it counts. 🏁

A lot of the parts on our race cars are made in-house for exactly this reason. It gives us the freedom to build what the car actually needs, rather than trying to make an off-the-shelf part fit.

Still a bit of finishing to do, but it’s coming together nicely.

Highlights from Sunday 23rd August 2026 - One of our biggest Stage 1 events yet at Sydney Motorsport Park. 🤯

The weather was spot on, the pit lane was busy from start to finish, and we had a huge mix of drivers, passengers, mates and family members through the garage all day.

A day this busy only works when everyone pulls together. From getting people signed on and suited up, to preparing the cars, running briefings and turning drivers around between sessions, the crew did a brilliant job of making sure every person still got the proper motorsport experience.

That’s what we’re proud of - not just putting people in a race car, but giving them a genuine look at what being around a race team feels like.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. 🙏 It was a cracking day at the track.

🏆 A special mention goes to our Top Gun recipients which is reserved for drivers who demonstrate natural car control, awareness, and confidence on track regardless of age or previous experience. It's not about lap times, aggression, or bravado. It's about how they drove the car:

A solid day of testing for Max and Braxton at the One Raceway Open Test Day. 🏁🏎️

For Braxton, it was a big first: his first time in a Formula Ford and his first time driving a manual. After a few goes at finding the bite point in the paddock, he settled in quickly and was on track driving like he’d been using a clutch for years. He listened, took on the feedback and put in some seriously quick laps by the end of the day.

Max kept building through the sessions too. By the afternoon, he was putting together consistent laps and making the most of every run. Max Gardellini

They were learning the Shelley Circuit layout as well, which runs anti-clockwise to the old Wakefield direction.

That’s what a proper test day is for: time in the car, working through feedback, reviewing the data and building confidence one session at a time.

What's in the workshop? 🔧

Something a little different to the usual Formula Ford work in the workshop this week.

This is a customer’s Fraser. A New Zealand-built, Lotus Seven-style sports car from a company that has been handcrafting them in Auckland since 1988.

The idea behind a Fraser is pretty simple: low weight, basic mechanicals and nothing you don’t need. That’s why they have such a following. They are small, open, direct and built to make even a normal road speed feel like an occasion.

This one runs a Toyota 18RG 2.0-litre engine from the mid-’70s Toyota Celica which is paired with a manual gearbox.

It’s with us to tidy up a few oil leaks around the sump, replacing the gear-shift assembly, and to make some adjustments to the steering rack. Nothing glamorous, but the sort of work that keeps a car like this driving the way it should.

There’s plenty to like here: proper gauges, exposed suspension, a simple cockpit and no unnecessary fluff.
