🕊️ Stewart Athnail Memorial Game 🕊️

Over the weekend, the Assyrian Cup community came together for the Stewart Athnail Memorial Game, held between the Semi Final and Final matches.

It was a beautiful and emotional tribute to Stewart Athnail, a much-loved member of our community whose passion for football and kindness touched so many lives. The match featured Stewart’s close friends, who took the field to honour his memory through the game he loved most.

We were also deeply honoured to have Stewart’s family in attendance, sharing this special moment with the entire football community. Their presence made the occasion even more meaningful as we celebrated Stewart’s life and legacy together.

Thank you to all who participated, attended, and contributed. Stewart’s spirit continues to live on through the friendships, memories, and love for football that he helped build.

Congratulations to Mesopotamian Stars, who have been crowned 2025 Assyrian Cup Sydney Champions after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Bulls Academy FC in the final!

With this win, the Mesopotamian Stars from Melbourne go back-to-back champions, lifting the cup for the second consecutive year — a remarkable achievement that cements their place as one of the tournament’s elite teams.

A massive thank you to all teams, players, officials, and fans who made this year’s tournament one to remember. The Assyrian football spirit continues to shine brighter each year!
