University Cup Rugby League Referees Association Uni Cup Rugby League Referees Association Season 2013 represents our 41styear of involvement in this very successful competition.

The University Cup Rugby League Referees Association Inc (UCRLRA) service the NSW Student Rugby League competition comprising of two divisions and including teams from numerous universities and TAFE colleges located throughout Sydney and regional NSW namely Bathurst Canberra and Newcastle. While, our membership base of 34 active referees steadily increases. The players are students from the major

universities including, SydneyUni, Sydney (Cumberland Campus) Newcastle and Canberra Universities, UTS, UWS Macarthur, UWS Nirimba, Charles Sturt University Bathurst, Lewisham Old Boys, RailCorp and the West Sydney Blues (Police) most clubs are named after their university. The competition is 41 years old and is sanctioned by the NSWRL. Matches are played from March to September each year plus bi-annual representative fixtures are also conducted involving interstate and international matches. The University Cup Referees’ Association has a well established reputation for high integrity and professionalism based on a strong code of conduct.

Today also marks Special Edition #2, where we recognise referees who may not have reached first grade but still made a meaningful impact across the NSWRL competitions.
Today we feature Jimmy Oliviera. A touch judge who officiated in more than 450 games across the NSW New South Wales Rugby League major competitions after being graded by the Canterbury-Bankstown Rugby League Referee's Association.

The Spagarino family announce with a heavy heart that Dennis has passed away at Concord hospital today 5 December. His wife and daughters were at his side.
We will be in touch with details of his funeral when they become available.
Meanwhile instead of flowers the Spagarino family request a donation be made to MND Australia in Dennis' memory.
