Spot the difference. Many amateur golfers tend to lose their spine angle through the rotation/impact. This is a classic case that demonstrate the spine angles. From top L to R, top two is Adam Scott after impact. Green line depicts his starting spine angle, red line behind show his after impact spin angle. The next 3 pics are of an amateur golfer. Just notes I emailed to one of my client. 😊 I also sent him videos of his before and after. By chance, ran into him at the local coffee shop - I was amazed and proud of what he then showed me on his phone. 📱
Photos of his before and after swings side by side at different backswing positions that he created 🎬 from the videos I sent him. He is working on getting to the backswing position 🏌️‍♂️ more effectively and so he won't have to worry about where the ball will go. Cause & effect 💡

How is it distance control you ask? Well in my head I'm thinking, take hands back to 9 o'clock. The result? I know it carries to approx 21m and rolls out to a total of 28m with this stance.
✅Make sure you move your weight and sternum forward as you make contact.
❌I see too many amateurs lean back at impact because the used their hands to help scoop, so body weight fails to transfer. Causing the club to 'bottom out' (like hitting the area way behind the ball) and they fat or thin the shot.

Its important to keep the left arm straight (not rigid!!) at the top of your backswing. Why? Because your backswing is going to be as wide as possible which helps with the swing arch and also promote the club face to stay square longer through impact! Aka.. More speed and consistency.
Perhaps another way to think is.. Pushing your right hands away from your head at the top of the backswing will really help!
