⏰ Daylight savings time!! ⏰
Initially we will be in a bit of sleep debt as we lose an hour of sleep so we can expect there to be some challenges as our little ones adjust to their new sleep-wake cycle.
As those summer nights get longer and lighter, you may have to dim the lights a little earlier or darken the room to help your little one transition to sleep for their usual bedtime. This is because light in particular has a big influence on our circadian rhythms (when we feel tired and when we feel alert) and can cause a delayed onset of sleep.
If you have a little person who likes to wake at 5:30am, this change will give you an hour sleep in in the coming days 🙈
If you find that after the clocks are adjusted and your little one starts waking early again and you aren’t wanting that to continue, feel free to DM!
I’m going with option 2! Wake Miss Z at 7am on the Sunday. I can expect it will be harder for her to fall asleep at her “usual” nap times at 9:30am & 1pm (which really will be 8:30am & 12pm) but I’ll be consistent in how she goes to sleep and as she adjusts, the time it takes her to fall asleep will get quicker! Which option will you do?
