Train the skillz at a high level...

Simple Adjustments to our catch tech can have a major influence on our passing outcomes.

1stly the ability to catch and pass is greatly diminished with poor catch stance or the wrong catch tech.
Remember the best catch tech is the one that works best for you in your given situation....
But let options be available in the space of development !!!

If a quick tip on pass is required in pressured moments, a tap on with the hand is the best & effective method to use.
If a quick spotted ball shift to shape in space is required, then the passing grip will be your best tech catch & chance to effect the pass you require at a higher level of ex*****on.

Be willing to adapt your athletes & players to change but don't force them....remember that they normally have no reason to change their tech if its all they've known. Go easy and be reasonable in your discussions around the different tech spots and be explanatory as well....

Let us please not copy and paste the professional game !!!!!!!

Please deliver us into an appropriate space of where we are and not lead us into to the temptation of being a Jnr age wanna be NRL Team !!!!!

Age appropriate conditioning and game plans are some of the most missed and overlooked ingredients that never make it to the footy field.

Learning how to run / catch and pass with a quality delivery is just not highlighted enough...

Sometimes a session can present a new way of explaining something....
And in this session I just stumbled across a metaphor that can relate to how we position ourselves into a tackle. Occasionally "Footychat" can get lost amongst the noise of footy !!!
By using things that don't sound like footy, we can sometimes find a new found focus on the playing group...

Like I've said before, the best of anything is what works best for you in the moment 💪🏾

We're only trying to give the athletes a baseline so they can create their version of that moment !!!

FTD - CATCH / PASS TECH 12yrs & above ....

So the act of Catching & Passing becomes more than just that as the Athletes become older.
The tech system changes as the Athletes get older and play against more advanced / experienced oppositions, who have disciplined defensive systems... Line press becomes a real thing - so does the anxiety of making the pass, the pressure to catch, the pressure to know who the pas is going too......

And so on & so on !!!!

I will be posting some detailed videos on the tech but for now introduction is again the 1st port of call when ogering up new tech cues to a skill apparently already learnt.
