Be a farmer not a hunter!
The difference between a hunter and a farmer, is a hunter is looking for an immediate kill whereas as a farmer is a long term planner.
A farmer is an investor. A strategic thinker. Always looking forward, constantly thinking of the future, looking to optimise their crops whilst mitigating risks.
And these risks are many and constant. A farmer is consistently adapting, dealing with the change in seasons, reacting to changing elements. Changing environments. Changing challenges. Finding solutions. Focusing on those things in their control.
Even when a farmer achieves the perfect crop, the job isn’t completed. It’s never done. A perfect garden is only a temporary success. It still needs weeding. It stills need maintenance.
Think like a farmer - always looking ahead and developing skills to adapt to changing circumstances and solving problems.
Take this same approach with running your teams and your business. The perfect high performing team is the dream but even when you get there, it still requires ongoing maintenance. The utopia state is only ever temporary.
