How to get out of your own head when it comes to posting content 🪩

The fact is…

Your dream clients can’t find you if you’re not visible.

Forget about it being popularity contest or trying to make this as beautiful as your portfolio.

Simplify it.

This is your fastest, cheapest and biggest opportunity to be seen and to connect with your dream clients.

If you don’t wanna show up for you, do it for them 💪

This might be a bit weird but my best mates are my sales people.

We’ve got 5 people in our sales team right now...and just hired a 6th. Every single person on our sales team is a badass and I love them so so much.

I’ve hired past clients, past coaches, best friends and everything in between.

After hiring many people for sales roles, I’ve learned that cultural fit trumps skill ALL DAY LONG.

Why? Because they are the first interaction a potential client has with your brand.

And because I was the one doing the sales for so long, I needed people I could trust 100% in this space.

Every day I get a pitch from a setter or closer who wants to sell for me.

I’ve found that our best sales people have come through relationship. People who love you and love your product will sell better than a “certified closer” ever will.

So if you’re thinking of hiring for sales, look at your existing network first.

I went on a crazy quitting spree in my business.

I quit YouTube - People thought I was crazy. But it was taking 80% of my time and yielding 5% of my results.

I quit a VERY profitable offer - I had a waitlist and everything. But it was distracting me from my main thing.

I quit a crap load of admin we were doing in client delivery - nothing broke, saved an easy $10k/month.

Every time I quit something that isn’t moving the needle, my business grows.

So this is your reminder, more is not more.

Maximise your moneymakers. Give yourself permission to quit the rest.

I didn’t grow up dreaming of being an entrepreneur.

Honestly, if I weren’t doing this, I probably would have pursued something in music.

I started my agency at 23 from my bedroom while I was working part time as a barista.

Naive, excited and making $400 a week ha.

Very quickly I realised that building a business required MUCH more than just creative talent.

I needed to learn how to craft offers, market myself, sell with confidence, build systems and grow a team.

I invested every spare dollar I had into upskilling in those areas. I would put businesses courses on my credit card and trust that I’d make the money back. I pretended I was further along a few times to get into programs that I was not qualified for (lol sorrrrry)

But I had this belief that I would make it work.

That scrappiness is the reason I’ve built the business I have today.

I very quickly scaled my agency to 6 figures. Then started a web design studio and did the same thing again.

Sharing this because I want you to know that running and growing a business is a skill.

And it’s a skill you can (and must) learn.

There are no unicorns in this space. Just brave people who back themselves.

If you’re in a content crisis right now, this is for you.

Go where the energy is. Ditch the shoulds. And make it as weird and fun as possible.

Confessions of my burnout journey (part two)

It’s weird when your creative side hustle becomes your job. Because your hobby and your passion has become a means to pay the bills.

So when I hit burnout, I didn’t actually know how to recharge my batteries because my business was pretty much my main hobby (weird, I know)

I learned about the concept of active recovery which is what athletes do after a big game. They don’t do a massive training session. They also don’t sit on the couch eating chips.

They do intentional moment and practices that help their body recover.

I had to find my version of that.

Confessions of my burnout journey (part one)

I’ve never met a lazy person who struggled with burnout.

It’s the curse of overachievers.

And that’s a conundrum because recovering from burnout means you’ve gotta rest.

But what if you’re energised by achieving?? What then?

That was one of the trickiest parts for me to navigate.

Put together this series because every time I meet people on here IRL, they ask me about my burnout journey. It’s really important to talk about - especially in business circles.

Hope you find this helpful 🤍
