We had a few away with farm tasks, family commitments along with some ill health this week but still 17 shooters rocked up at the 600y mound, along with a couple of new faces keen to see what the are all about, we hope you enjoyed your day out with us!

With storms on the forecast, some fairly placid conditions downrange, last minute load development and technical plans to get knocked out for Armidale R***e Club OPM and the ACT Full Bore Target R***e Association Kings Series everyone was keen to make it happen and get groups on the screen.

Clint 'Mr Tikka' Graham smashed out a casual pair of 50.10s in load development to be Top C**k this week, question is though can he squeeze a bit more out of it yet 🤔

Junior Top was visitor Beau from Armidale with the .284 apparently Magnums are a thing of the past 😉

At the Spring Ridge R***e Club today we had 26 members and guests roll up to the 500-yard mound. With the long weekend off for competitive or family duties, everyone was itching to send it down range. We welcomed regular visitors Adam and Beau from the Armidale R***e Club back to the Ridge after representing Australia in the Australian U25 FOpen R***e Team in Bisley.
Congratulations to our Top c***s this week. These two rose above the flies (unusually bad, 10000 must have hitched a lift home from the Mungindi Border R***e Club), the mirage and a switching wind.
Brad showed us who's boss on the 6.5x47L shooting in PCO. Well done, and great to see you back at the club after a short break.
Our junior TC, Riley going great in Target r***e C grade on the .223 Awesome stuff mate, that new jackets definitely working!
As per always, teamwork makes the dream work! All members lending a hand in set up or pack up or both, thanks everyone!

Mungindi 2026

7 of made the trip north to the alleged fly capital of the universe.

Friday evening was spent supporting the Club's sponsor the Jolly Swagman and catching up with old friends.

Saturday the team were greeted with overcast conditions and a tricky breeze.
Unfortunately we found that even Tikka operators can wind the scope wrong way 🤦‍♂️ less than a ideal start to the weekend. Halle showed her skill and kept in front of Mum at the first range.
The second 500y saw Clint out for redemption with a perfect 75.15 claiming the first Mungindi fly to be awarded. Not wanting to miss out on the party the Chief's blazed a 90.11 with the dasher!

Saturday Evening and we were treated to what would be the best feed you'll find on a range along with a cleaning demo from Jason Mayers, fresh back from the World Championships in Bisley.

Sunday gave us the simple equation of, less cloud = more mirage, and it was pretty devastating if you got a bit relaxed watching it 🥴Never complacent however the Chief put another possible on the board in the morning, and Kayla cleaned up 300y with a very tidy 60.3. The wind and mirage however stole the glory at the last, but a stellar effort from the team all weekend long. As always we had a blast! Well run Mungindi, we'll be back in force next year!

Today at the 300 yard mound we welcomed Darcy and Georgia out for a first look, also returning were Chloe and Nick, all on P650’s.
We also had new member Haydon fully signed up and in team Ridge.
With only 18 firers it was a leisurely day with some members fireforming and some load development in preparation’s for the ACT Full Bore Target R***e Association Kings prize series.
Our Top c***s were, our Treasurer Hughie, well done mate! Target R***e A grade is definitely calling ☎️.
Also a very well done to Georgia winning the Junior Top C**k on her very first time on a range, on Dads .204.🐓
Congratulations! Many more to come we recon.
12 year old Chloe also knocked a lazy 60.7 on her first time behind a F Open r***e. Go the Dasher! Looks like the .223 is definitely staying at the back of the safe.
Well done all, 300 is our closest but definitely not the easiest.

Good luck to our competing in Sydney tomorrow. Look out Malabar, the Ridge is in town!

The crossed the border for the Goondiwindi R***e Club OPM over the weekend.
With around 95 entries it was a blast for our team, and what a well run event it was too. With 500, 600, 700 and 800 metre stages.
Well done Team Gundy!

Congratulations to our Ridge raider Clint. With several range wins and winning the day one Aggregate. With the tough conditions on Sunday dropping him to second it was a great contest to watch!
Well done mate!
The Ace will be lighting up the Tikka championship in a couple of weeks.

We Also had Chris, Angus, James and Finn competing in F Open in a large field of 34.
With 14yo James finishing 10th, showing no mercy to Dad, Finn coming in at 12th on Father's Day, both piloting the small but mighty 6mm Dasher.
Angus 14th and Chris 15th. On the .284 and .284 Shehane respectively.
Well done to all our team! Finishing in the top half of a stacked pack of talent is a great achievement.

700y, a filthy forecast, members away with family/farming commitments, a swag of the crew up at Goondiwindi and yet, still, somehow, 13 shooters were there keen and ready to show it who's boss at the Ridge!

With both the Paparazzi peacock and IT bossman away over the border, the results and imagery are a little how ya goin' but we can assure you that David Sainsbury cleaned up yet again to be Top C**k, a stellar performance and also in preparation of the tikka championships, look out Malabar! Charli on a P650 was junior Top C**k under the tutelage of father Reece. Fitting outcome being fathers day tomorrow!

Best of luck to our at Goondiwindi, cover yourselves in glory!!

These awesome pictures sum up why target shooting is an amazing sport to be apart of.
We sporting shooters are safe, responsible and importantly growing in numbers.
As a community, everyone is helping each other grow.
Roughly 300 competitors in one place in metro Brisbane, most travel with a back up r***e in case of equipment failure.
No public safety issues!
