J-Leigh 🚀 I help ambitious professionals who feel stuck start living a life they love 💥 Jess is the values-led woman behind the values-led business.

We are a values-led business that’s passionate about creating spaces to decrease the amount of stress that we as a society collectively and individually experience. We do this through our range of services that create a holistic and well-rounded approach to wellbeing rather than treating each element as a separate piece. These pieces fit together, so we’ve designed and created them in a way that i

s founded in service and enables growth. As a business, we value communication • ethical leadership • accountability • kindness • equality • learning & relearning (no matter your title) • creating mental & emotional space for ourselves and each other • empowerment • practicing emotional intelligence • being willing to try, even if you screw up (and allowing people to screw up in their process of growth). Having spent most of her adult life actively in various forms of self-development, particularly when it comes to the stresses of a corporate work life, Jess eventually decided to put her quals in Communication & Public Relations, and yoga and mindfulness to even better use and, thus, what has become J-Leigh was born. With experience in corporate and leadership communication, marketing & PR, team program management in high performance sports at the national level for para-athletes, a balanced, insightful and deeply caring approach to the what and ‘why’ for yoga to ensure it’s a safe space physically and soulfully, and a double degree in literally communicating and relating to others, Jess is a woman on a mission to help others in these areas that can feel big and overwhelming, particularly when under stress. Caring so much about the mental and emotional space others are in, Jess has also completed additional training for trauma-informed yoga and certificate-level 3 in Counselling for PTSD in order to do due diligence in the space she holds for and words she uses with others. Jess is an organised creative at heart – she thrives when there’s a new passion project to dive into and figure out in order to bring it in its best, most useful form to the world, but unlike the stereotypical creative, she’ll make sure you feel like everything is taken care of and you have all the up-to-date information you need at every step of the way (and usually ahead of time!) It’s that anticipation and checking in of needs Jess does that has resonated with so many of her clients, students, and athletes and has resulted in such a positive effect in their experiences in working with her!

Feeling overwhelmed by unfinished tasks? Learn to find meaningful stopping points and leave 'breadcrumbs' for your future self to reduce the mental load - of wrapping up your work on that task in that moment, stepping into your next task, and then for when you return to your task again later.

💥 ANNOUNCING MY FIRST BOOK ‘LEADERS WHO THRIVE’ 💥
I wrote this book as a resource for leaders of all types: business owners, directors, managers, and university graduates.
Seasoned or beginner leaders can benefit from this combination of theory and actual practice.

Never have I ever had to practice more of what I was actively working on creating, than when I wrote this book last year.
In the middle of completing a postgrad degree. While running a business. While working with organisations doing incredible, meaningful work. While also being human, having very human experiences.

I had to practice implementing MORE mindfulness into how I’ve operated in every sense of leadership, because there was simply no other way through it while still being who I aim to be (at least most of the time).

The feeling of being an imminently-published author comes with a whole bunch of imposter syndrome and fear (“If we’re always learning, how do I know when to pause long enough to write it down?”), pride (“I wrote a book! ME?! I wrote a BOOK!”), stress (“How did I do it? Truly couldn’t tell you”), and recognition (“Dedicated work can actually birth something tangible and valuable... Interesting”).

‘Leaders Who Thrive: A Mindful Antidote to Disconnected Teams’ comes out in September! You can add it to your wishlist now direct from Routledge, or on Booktopia, and Amazon, ahead of pre-orders opening!

Deep thinking is crucial for creativity, but constant interruptions kill it.
If you put pressure on yourself to always be doing, but don't allow ANY time for deep thinking time because it doesn't 'look' productive, take a listen to this episode.

If you're exhausted, you might be because you're trying to do everything (everywhere) all at once.
Between: Email. Meetings. Teams messages. Projects. Phone calls. Another email.
And then wondering why you feel mentally fried by midday.
There's a concept called attention residue that explains why.
When we switch from one task to another, part of our attention stays attached to the previous task. Physically we've moved on. Mentally, we haven't.
The results can be:
- More mental fatigue
- Less focus
- Lower quality thinking
- More stress
- Feeling busy without making meaningful progress
In this week's episode of Get Jasched, I explore why attention management may be more important than time management, and how creating periods of uninterrupted focus can improve not only productivity, but wellbeing too.
If you're constantly switching, listen to this one.

Feeling stuck? That treadmill feeling is R E A L.
Keep going, even when you can't see the progress (and adjust to what's most useful). The hard work pays off, eventually getting you to where you want to be, and over time you LEARN that - to use a reminder for the next time (and the time after that, and after that 🙃😜)

Delayed gratification is a skill, not a sacrifice. It's how we make better long-term decisions for happiness and goals, rather than rushing into what's available just because it's there 👀

One of the hardest parts of working towards something meaningful is that there are often long stretches where it feels like absolutely nothing is happening.
You show up.
You do the work.
You tick off the tasks.
And somehow it still feels like you're standing still.
Over the past two years, I've been completing my Master's degree while also writing my first book. Both have required a level of patience that I didn't always feel great about, and if I'm honest, there were plenty of moments where I questioned whether I was making any progress at all.

I've been reminded that:
- Progress is often invisible while you're in it
- The challenge isn't just learning delayed gratification
- It's important to acknowledge the small wins along the way so that you don't burn out before you reach the finish line.

In this week's episode of Get Jasched, I'm sharing some reflections on:
- Delayed gratification in a world built for instant feedback
- Why trusting the process feels so difficult
- The small progress markers that kept me going
- How to stay motivated when results haven't arrived yet.

If you're currently working towards something important and wondering whether it's worth it, this episode is for you.

Effective expectation setting is crucial. This involves not only reframing goals to be realistic but also ensuring it's a shared-approach in regards to support.
Whether it's for you or your team, transparency about what it truly takes, combined with a realistic assessment of what can be achieved together, forms the foundation for a successful professional relationship.

Empower yourself to find those small wins.
Realize that fitness (or .. anything you're working towards) doesn't always require a one-hour gym session. It can be 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there.
Many people believe that if they can't dedicate a significant chunk of time or achieve perfection, there's no point in starting. But this mindset can be a major barrier to your progress.

Exercise is not just about aesthetics, weight loss, or “fitness culture.”
Sometimes it’s about helping someone feel confident enough to catch a bus independently again.
Sometimes it’s about rebuilding identity after injury.
Sometimes it’s simply about reducing barriers so movement feels possible.
It could even be completely unrelated to exercise, but what you learn along the way.

In this episode of Get Jasched, I sat down with exercise physiologist Sam Godbold to talk about disability, chronic illness, communication, movement, and the importance of actually listening to people.

We spoke about:
– why movement looks different for everybody
– the hidden barriers people experience around exercise
– how people can communicate more effectively
– rebuilding confidence through movement
– progress over perfection
– and why people don’t need to be “gym people” to benefit from movement

One of the biggest takeaways for me:
People don’t want to be talked down to. They want to be understood.
(and yes, this applies far beyond just healthcare).

This was such an important conversation about empathy, accessibility, autonomy, and helping people feel capable again.
