Saffron Veil has been knocking down the door in her two starts to date, but she burst through it with an impressive win at Canterbury Park over 1250m. It was another victory for the leading combination of Chris Waller and James McDonald.

The Wild Ruler filly has always shown she has ability and it’s great to see her performing well on the track. She was a $350,000 Inglis Premier Sale purchase by Rising Sun Syndicate / Healthy Wood Co from The Chase and runs in the partnership’s silks.

Well done to Chris, Charlie Duckworth and the entire Waller Racing team who continue to do an outstanding job with this filly.

Depending on how she pulls up, we may target 1400m at stakes level this spring.

Exciting filly Celestaria is enjoying a short break in the paddock at Henry Dwyer Racing’s after her most recent run where she ran third. She pulled up with a little issue but she’s recovered now and the short break will really benefit her.

She is a filly to watch this season! She debuted for Henry Dwyer in the Listed Dequetteville Stakes and ran an admirable fourth. She had one subsequent run as a juvenile, also running fourth, and she’s continuing to develop into her Classic year.

Saffron Veil has come through her debut run in magnificent condition. She was a fast-finishing second, beaten by just 0.02 of a length. She is set to runaway again on Wednesday, back at Warwick Farm, in either a 1200m or 1400m event.

She debuted over 1100m under Zac Lloyd and he was very impressed with her performance. He noted that she’d be better over a bit further but got off her and said, ‘She’s run enormous!”

Saffron Veil is by Newgate’s exciting young sire Wild Ruler and she’s a three-quarter-sister to Group 1 winner Communist.

The Chris Waller stable and our Rising Sun team have a very good opinion of this filly and we’re hopeful of a big Spring with her.

Group 3 Breeders’ Plate runner-up I’m Ya Huckleberry was an impressive winner at Wyong today for G*i Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. The exciting c**t is by Home Affairs and out of the Group-placed Key. Rising Sun Syndicate / Knine Inc purchased the I Am Invincible x Key filly at this year’s Magic Millions Sale from Kia Ora for $1.2m.

Now named Star Of The Top, she has been back in work, also with G*i and Adrian, for three weeks now as we start to prepare for the early juvenile races in Sydney. She is a magnificent filly and Rising Sun and the team at Tulloch Lodge couldn’t be happier with her.

Rising Nine Top lines up for his second run of his three-year-old campaign tomorrow at Geelong and we’re looking forward to seeing him back at the races. He came through his first-up assignment in excellent order, where he finished third over 1400m and he’ll step out to 1547m tomorrow as we continue to get him out in trip.

He ’s been enjoying his work at Ciaron Maher’s Ballarat Stable and we’re sure he’ll continue to improve with some more racing. He’s only had the three career starts and his most recent outing was by far his best run.

Our Dundeel x Toorsinaa c**t with Cumani Racing recently completed his spell on the Bellarine Peninsula and seemed to love his time in a spacious paddock with three other c**ts.

Matt was really pleased with his progress throughout last preparation and his attitude for the work. He has a really good opinion of this c**t and we’re hopeful of getting him to the jump outs this prep, and perhaps even the races.

Preciousmore breaks through for an excellent win at Ballarat on the Synthetic course, courtesy of a brilliant ride from Declan Bates. Well done to the ownership group who have been very patient with this mare and Matt Cumani and his team for doing an excellent job.

She’s a mare that enjoys a trip and was successful at 2100m today. Declan gave her a good wrap after the race and suggested she’d be even more effective out to 12 furlongs.

Preciousmore is by Maurice and out of Pressure who got out to 2200m herself. She was a $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase by Rising Sun Syndicate and Cumani Racing.

Another excellent racing season for Rising Sun Syndicate comes to a close and we’re already looking forward to an even bigger year ahead.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible team of trainers, owners and support team for their ongoing commitment.

We enjoyed 18 winners across the season with some promising types and we’ll be hitting the ground running through the Spring with our biggest team of horses yet.

Perhaps the biggest growth came off the track. We had a busy yearling sale season buying on behalf of some new owners, we’ve added some great new trainers to our stable and Bruno Dimasi joined our team in a Sales and Ownership Experience role.

Here’s to a big 2026/27 season. We can’t wait to share the success ahead with you all!
