Its been 19 years since the surface at our courts was laid and in the next few months we will have a brand new surface, brand new fencing including brand new lighting. These courts will be the best in the area. We had a meeting with Raw Courts who will be laying the courts and installing the new fencing

As of Monday October 11th, we are now open for doubles play, for both Social Tennis and casual bookings. You need to be double vaccinated to do so, and you'll need to bring with your proof of vaccination, either the online or the paper version. When you arrive at the courts you will need to scan in the QR code on the gate, and follow other COVID procedures. Masks and distance limits are not mandated

Good News!

We have been advised today by Tennis NSW that individual tennis clubs now can use their discretion to allow doubles play for fully vaccinated players over 16 years old.

Our club can meet the required conditions included and so from tomorrow, Wednesday 22nd September, our Social groups can start playing doubles again.

To do so, players wishing to play doubles will have to produce to Court Captains their Certificate of Vaccination, on paper or on their Smart phone. This is a non negotiable condition and Court Captains have been asked to personally verify each person's Certificate, or refuse them entry. Verification Certificates must be brought and produced each time so that they are available to show anyone in authority (police or council staff) that you are fully vaccinated.

Other conditions we have to meet are:

Scan QR Code on entry
Club having a COVID-19 Safety Plan (it's inside the Clubhouse)
Observe the 1 person per 4 sq. metres rule
Wearing masks when not actually on the court and playing
Using hand sanitizer frequently
Avoiding physical contact
No gathering before or after tennis play - "Play and Go"
Play for residents only who live within Port Stephens Shire area.
For members who are not double vaccinated and who want to continue to play singles, I'm afraid that won't be possible during Social tennis group sessions. Those members will need to make their own arrangements and book a court at other times.

Great news we can now play singles with no more than 6 people on the 3 courts we cant have people sat off as that is not classed as exercising so if we get more than 6 per session we have to book in playing times please refer to the "whatsapp" groups for more details shortly

We have just been advised by Port Stephens Council that all tennis at clubs in their area are to cease all tennis immediately.

In the light of new advice today by the NSW Government, Council's COVID Management Committee have agreed that the intent of the Public Health Orders is to keep people at home, and was echoed by the Premier today. Our page and Website are being updated now to reflect this announcement.

Sorry to break this bad news. I will advise when tennis at Soldiers Point Tennis Club can resume.
