Meet the Members - Chris Gow
I started playing when I was 11 years old and immediately fell in love with the game. After six months of playing my coach asked me if I wanted to play comp, which I did!
I started out playing in grade C9 with a vision to play in A1 by the age of 19. My partner and I won A2 twice and were upgraded too A1. I was 19 years old!! 😊 Unfortunately, whilst I was very excited to be in A1, I am sad to report that I never won a game in A1 but I still loved playing.
Fortunate at this time I was also able to play a few tournaments with my cousin in the Chinese Tennis Association in Sydney. We won several trophies in this tournament and I had a great time playing with my cousin. I have played tennis on and off ever since, sometimes more off than on!
I started playing at Howe Park about 10 years ago when the Ruigrok’s invited me to play. I was warmly welcomed into the club and found the people to be very kind and genuine. Even though I now live at Medowie, I still drive to Howe Park on a Thursday night to play because it’s a terrific club and I love the people.
My best shot? I love to chase the ball and return really difficult shots. My worse shot - everything else!! 😊
