Shellharbour parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners and walkers of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am on Dharawal Country in Killalea State Park, NSW, Australia. Shellharbour parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners and walkers. We encourage people of every ability to take part, from those taking their first s

teps in running to Olympians, from juniors 4 years or older to those with decades of experience. All parkrunners receive encouragement and enjoy being part of a community event open to all standards. Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we encourage everybody to get involved.

Thank you to all the parkrunners, including the 146 finishers and 30 volunteers, who joined us for Shellharbour parkrun event #572. Without you, this event would not have been possible.
Three cheers to the 2 parkrunners who joined a new parkrun milestone club this weekend:

The first time to parkrun is something to celebrate! It's also the first step towards your first official milestone club membership. Welcome to the 8 parkrunners who took this step this weekend: Anna, Chloe, Harrison, James, Josie, Madeline, Terry and Tom.
Welcome to the 13 parkrunners who joined us at Shellharbour parkrun for the first time: Adam, Alexander, Alyssa, Annaliese, Ben, Craig, Daniel, Kate, Kim, Lyndal, Russell, Tym Lawrence and Zoe.
Shellharbour parkrun is not a race, but it's a great way to challenge yourself. Very well done to the 19 parkrunners who improved their personal best this week: Angela (31:18), Audrey (28:13), Graciela (42:59), Hugo (27:46), Jesse (20:22), Jessica (37:02), Joshua (29:08), Kiara (35:29), Leonie (41:44), Matt (27:52), Micheal (38:30), Rebecca (32:46), Ryan (27:14), Sam (32:35), Skye (39:55), Tash (51:36), Tess (28:01), Tristan (29:46) and Zachary (22:10).
We were pleased to see 9 walking and running groups represented at this event: _, Illawarra Kareelah Orienteers, Kembla Joggers AC, Running Mums Australia, Smurf & Smurfette, Team Veteran, The Adventurers, ULTRA Mediocre Runners of Canberra and Woodstock Runners.

These stripy little tickets are your passport to free, fun, and friendly weekly events all over the world and also carry contact details in case of an emergency. parkrun barcode wristbands also have medical information, which you can take with you wherever you exercise.
Since Shellharbour parkrun started 13,448 brilliant parkrunners have had their barcodes scanned, and a grand total of 103,955 finishers have covered a total distance of 519,775 km, while celebrating 13,015 personal bests. We shall always be grateful to each of our 987 wonderful volunteers for their contributions.
We'll be back next week for another free, fun, and friendly weekly 5km community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you.

There’s lots to look forward to this weekend! An extra cheer for the dads at parkrun out on course ahead of Father’s Day💝, also Pacer week is here! 🙌
(We do have a 25min pacer spot free if someone would like to fill that let me know if that’s you). 😅

Bringing plenty of energy and excitement our pacers will be looking over their shoulder to help keep you on track, encouraging you along the way to reach your goal and perhaps nab a new pb, or simply achieving a 5km finish is something to celebrate! 🎉

Join us tomorrow for Shellharbour parkrun #572 at stunning Killalea Regional park where we have a cross country course, hills and ocean views. 🌊
It’s warming up quickly so come prepared with water to help hydrate and perhaps a towel for an ocean dip.

To the wonderful volunteers, thank you! Richard will set you up for the morning event from 7.30am. 👌

This past Saturday at Shellharbour parkrun event 571 we celebrated the following milestone...

Wayne has completed Shellharbour parkrun 96 times and has also visited Reddall Reserve, Batemans Bay and North Wollongong parkruns.
Wayne snuck through without getting a snap with the milestone cut outs, make sure you get a photo next time you are around Wayne!

A special unofficial milestone shout out to Bec who ticked over 100 volunteers at Shellharbour parkrun this morning. Bec continues to be integral to all that we do here at Shellharbour and are grateful for her. Bec has volunteered 122 times in total, and has pretty done every role that there is to do! She has RD'd 25 times, given the first timers welcome 26 times, marshalled, parkwalked, paced, timekeeped, handed out finish tokens, pre event setup, tail walked..... and more....... Congrats Bec on reaching the 100 at Shellharbour!!

Well the people voted and overwhelmingly wanted to listen to Dolly Parton in the finish area today. We may have even seen a few jigs and wiggles as her greatest hits played out loud for you all!! Thank you to all the parkrunners, including the 123 finishers and 21 volunteers, who joined us for Shellharbour parkrun event #571. Without you, this event would not have been possible.

Congrats to Wayne who joined the 100 milestone club and to John for the unoffical 200 club!!
