Shellharbour parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners and walkers of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am on Dharawal Country in Killalea State Park, NSW, Australia. Shellharbour parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners and walkers. We encourage people of every ability to take part, from those taking their first s

teps in running to Olympians, from juniors 4 years or older to those with decades of experience. All parkrunners receive encouragement and enjoy being part of a community event open to all standards. Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we encourage everybody to get involved.

Since Shellharbour parkrun started 13,203 brilliant parkrunners have had their barcodes scanned, and a grand total of 102,481 finishers have covered a total distance of 512,405 km, while celebrating 12,916 personal bests. We shall always be grateful to each of our 974 wonderful volunteers for their contributions.

Good morning Shellharbour parkrunners, walkers, and visitors. We're thrilled to bring you Shellharbour parkrun #559 tomorrow! πŸ™ŒπŸ‘Œ

With a forecast promising sunshine and crisp air, and our pacers ready, it's the perfect opportunity to push your limits and achieve a new personal best, or simply enjoy the great outdoors and the camaraderie that comes with it.
A chance to connect with like minded individuals, soak up the atmosphere, and experience the welcoming spirit of Shellharbour parkrun.

Our cross country course features uneven terrain and two exhilarating hills, so come along, bring a friend, and discover the joy of parkrun.

Part 3 - Volunteer Spotlight - Timekeeper

Today we caught up with Craig Nealon who was volunteering as timekeeper. Time keeping is pretty simple, and can even be done with one one handed as Craig demonstrates! The Timekeeper is responsible for recording the finish times of all participants at the event (using the Virtual Volunteer app), with times being uploaded shortly after the tail walkers finish.

Thanks for volunteering Craig - and hope the recovery from surgery goes quick and event free!

Congratulations to Gary Griffiths who today completed his 250th parkrun!
Gary joined parkrun in 2015 and has completed 213 of his parkruns at Shellharbour, whilst also visiting our neighbours at Reddall Reserve, North Wollongong, Sandon Point, Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens, Rex Jackson and a few a little further afield. He has also volunteered 41 times.
Gary sets the standard for jump photos, but thanks to everyone who gave it a go today - some of you excelled, and others, well you tried! πŸ˜‰

The forecast is looking a little brighter with hopes of some sunshine 🌞🌀
The track is still expected to be muddy and slippery in sections, especially heading down those hills so please be prepared - and maybe wear those dark coloured shoes!

THIS WILL BE THE 12TH AND LAST KIAMA RED CROSS FUN RUN.
OVER ELEVEN YEARS OVER $80000 (EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS) HAS BEEN RAISED FOR THE VITAL WORK OF AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS. THE FUN RUN HAS BEEN GROWING IN STATURE EACH YEAR, SO COME ALONG AND HELP US GO OUT WITH A BANG AND PUSH THE TOTAL OVER $100000 (ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS).
