Shellharbour parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners and walkers of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am on Dharawal Country in Killalea State Park, NSW, Australia. Shellharbour parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners and walkers. We encourage people of every ability to take part, from those taking their first s

Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we encourage everybody to get involved.

Can you help us fill our roster this week?

We're seeking a few more volunteers to get us over the line for this parkrunday, especially to help us with these roles:
- timekeeper (so we don't have to hand out 59:59 to everyone)
- marshall (second hill and second turnaround)

Never done it before?
No worries!
Just drop us a comment below or email [email protected], and we'll help you with the rest!

Hi Everyone, Olly here

For those who may have missed our 12th birthday milestone earlier this month, I wanted to share my update from the day: that after a few years at the wheel, I have decided to step away as Event Director.

I have loved supporting our community and simply could not have done this without the amazing support from our volunteers, participants, families and friends. I'd especially like to thank each of the event core team, past and present, who are all so very special and have done so much to support me and us all.

I'm delighted to pass the ED role onto an individual who already provides us so much in making parkrun possible and each Saturday morning a highlight.

Please welcome and congratulate your new Shellharbour parkrun Event Director, as of this weekend: Ian Kennedy!

Ian has been a part of our community since event #2, has completed 189 parkruns at Shellharbour and has volunteered 220 times! He sports Shellharbour finish times ranging from 19 to 76 minutes and is in fact the first of our ED’s to have finished first at our own event!

Welcome Ian!

In case you missed it, Shellharbour parkrun turned 12 this month!

We'd like to again thank everyone for their support and participation, and to thank our own legendary Statman for providing our annual stats!

Officially 13,230 people have completed 102,614 parkruns. Unofficially, since 2025 birthday 2,182 known people have completed 6,952 parkruns, plus 395 unknown finishers.

Check out some of the amazing efforts from our last year and the 12 years so far...

Well done everyone!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - Barcode scanning

A few weekends back we caught up for a quick chat with Annabel and Alexandra who were volunteering through barcode scanning. Thanks to you both for being a part of the volly teram and good luck on your Duke of Ed adventures!

Barcode scanning is easy and all that is required is your phone with the parkrun volunteer app downloaded. It's one of those volly spots in that if you complete your parkrun quick enough you can jump on the scanner straight afterwards - a 2 for 1 morning!!
