🏆 THE LODGE CUP – 2026
On Saturday, the Rosedale R***e Club had the pleasure of hosting “The Lodge Cup”, and what a fantastic day it turned out to be!
The Lodge Cup is a coached team event contested between District 9 — Moe, Lang Lang, Yarram, Rosedale and Warragul/Drouin — and District 19 — Fitzroy/Caulfield, Lilydale, Grantville and MCC.
While the forecast promised sunshine and a pleasant 24°C with a little breeze, the conditions on the range certainly provided an additional challenge for the competitors and coaches.
And when we say there was “a little breeze”, perhaps we were understating things!
The wind was blowing at around 10–14 mph, with a constantly varying right-to-left direction, making for some challenging and unpredictable conditions downrange. The coaches were kept well and truly on their toes, having to read and manage the changing wind throughout the shoot.
Despite the tricky conditions, all of the coaches did a remarkable job, making the most of the conditions and putting their teams in the best possible position. Well done, boys! 👏
Once the shooting was completed, it was all hands on deck for a quick clean-up — taking down the flags and packing away the Hexta targets.
Thanks to the team who stayed behind and helped get everything packed away. It was greatly appreciated.
Then it was back to the clubhouse for a fantastic afternoon get-together. A scrumptious afternoon tea prepared by Sue was enjoyed by everyone and was a great way to finish off a terrific day of competition, camaraderie and good sportsmanship.

A special congratulations to all the District 9 coaches and competitors. The challenging wind made for a demanding day on the range, and the result was a great reward for the team's efforts.
A big thank you also to everyone who travelled, competed, coached, helped on the range and contributed to making the day such a success.
We look forward to doing it all again next time, with the event heading to District 19.
