Rosedale Rifle Club Championship series 2026-2027

Match 1 stage 1 held at 300/400yards- the first one for the new season was held on 1st August.

We were very fortunate the have lovely sunny conditions and only a light easterly coming in from the left, some mirage and drop offs of course but certainly a pleasant day to be out there and there were great results recorded.

This season our committee decided to also record the number of pins shot on target at championships, and little wonder with the 14 pins recorded today!

The results for our first match-

TR- Danny Clothier 93.11

F Open Std- Dennis Smith 116.9 and 3 pins!!

F Open- Marcus Cave 120.17 and 4 pins!!!!

FTR- Carl Treasure 116.4 and 1 pin

Sporting Hunter- Shawn Vine 114.6.

Followed by a delicious BBQ thank you to Damien, Jeff and Dennis for prep and cooking and Sam for our delicious vegie bakes and our other members for yummy salads.

Great to see more new members joining our club and participating in our club championships!

The next match of stage 1 is to be held 12th Sept.

First 1000yard Shoot at Rosedale Rifle Club for the 2026-2027 season. A bit chillie but it turned out to be a fantastic day. 15 Shooters shot in one of the best days for testing.
No Wind for the first 1.5-2 hours and then a little bit of light shon through.
Steamed Dimmys and Hot Tomato Soup was on the menu for shooters to combat the chill.
It was great to see members from Yarram, Lang Lang and Moe brave the morning chill.
Next 1000yard Sunday will be on 2nd August.

Challenge Cup 2026

The Committee made the decision to run two 1000-yard events rather than the traditional 900-yard and 1000-yard matches due to the forecast of wet and rainy conditions.

As it turned out, the rain bypassed us to the south-east. We experienced mostly cloudy skies with occasional breaks of sunshine, which created some challenging conditions for the coaches. Thankfully, there was no rain during the competition.

At least not until we had finished cleaning up, packed away the equipment, and returned to the clubhouse!

Congratulations to the Rosedale Rifle Club on winning the 2026 Challenge Cup.

Rosedale Rifle Club Championship 2025-2026 series done and dusted.

Match 8/ stage 2 held on May 30th at 1000 yards for both rounds, in keeping with last years match 4 stage 1 held at 1000 yards due to weather. A beautiful sunny Autumn day with the usual westerly wind making an appearance and dropping off here and there to keep with Rosedales tradition of challenging conditions.

Rosedale Rifle Club Championship series 2025-2026

Match 7 stage 2- 700/800 yards held on April 11

Blustery westerly winds hammered the range on this chilly yet sunny Autumn day. The flags staying mostly horizontal, with some sight picture changes and drop offs to keep it interesting for both ranges. Results certainly reflected the trying conditions. Although thats nothing new for Rosedale!

2026 VRA Kings

First day a bit cool, overcast with a sneaky wind coming over the right shoulder then changing back again. It caught a few out!

On the second day the clouds disapeared, the sun came out and jumpers off. Wind was present ever so slightly, the shooters with the keenest eyes were able navigate.

On the last day it was almost perfect, 20 degrees a little mirage running but no trouble.

The Local GRA Shooters had a ball!
