It's a lovely winter's day for golf here in Robe today.... we've had a couple of small showers but also plenty of sunshine, minimal wind and comfortable golfing temps! 🌤

There's still time to come out and play 6 or 12 holes! ⛳️

RGC will be running a Men's and Women's competition tomorrow (Sunday 7/6) which are open to all members and visitors with an official Golf Australia handicap.

🏌️‍♀️The women's competition is a Stableford with 9.00am arrival for 9.30am tee time.

🏌️The men's competition is a Stroke round with a 10.00am arrival for 10.30am tee time.

No bookings are necessary for competition, just arrive at 9.00am (women) or 10.00am (men).

For our Full and Country members, the Men's competition is also a monthly medal round, and you can also enter into a Pair's Winter Medal event.

To enter the men's pairs event, simply nominate your partner on arrival, you don't necessarily need to play with your partner, it will be the best combined score to net with both scores counting in their entirety. If you don't have a pairs partner but interested into teaming up, let Tim or Matt know on arrival and they'll try and team you up with someone.

If you would like a social game, our first available tee time for Sunday is 11.40am ⛳️

Our story and play of the day… ⛳️

One member in today’s ladies competition was so focused on supporting and watching everyone finish the 9th hole, she missed one tiny detail….

Her electric buggy was still moving 🚜💨

After everyone had putted out, she casually pulled her remote out her pocket, looked around and asked "Ummm….. where’s my buggy?” 😳

To which the group replied…. “Probably in the dam’ 😉

That’s when everyone looked over and sure enough, there it was – partially submerged after majestically rolling down the bank and into the water 💦

Without hesitation, the golfer climbed in and her playing partners and even the builders from a nearby site launched a rescue mission! ⛑️

The golf bag and clubs survived…. electric cart, mobile phone and range finder…. still under assessment 😬

But here’s the best part….

In true sporting spirit, determination and dedication to the game, our member kept on playing... she played the next 3 holes manually pushing her waterlogged buggy, swapped it for a club push cart once she reached the clubhouse, and then headed straight back out to play the last 6 holes.... completing 9 holes total in wet clothes, with a soaked bag and squelching in saturated shoes and socks! 👏👏👏
