Away in Sydney last weekend and missed playing the 2nd qualifying round. Will be there for a hit this coming Sunday will be fun to see how I go adding new wedge to bag. Changing from 56 degree Titleist to a 54 or 58 degree Nike wedge has been interesting development from the gym and fitness training. The Nike wedge is heavier and has a better 'feel' and control playing shots. Having a session with a 58 degree wedge but don't think need that much loft. Happy Golfing all.

Sunday 30th March 2025 - 2nd Qualifying Round Club Championship
With a number of regular players on interstate golfing trips & perhaps the windy conditions, a small field of 11 played the 2nd qualifying round of the club championship.
Despite the wind, 9 of the scores were between net 67 & 74, which is a great effort given the conditions.
Playing some great golf, Brian Pennell led the field with Gross 86 / Net 67. Runner up with 80 / 69 was Shane Smith.
Bill Mullan was 3rd with 84 / 71. He also claimed NTP on the 9th but was unable to convert the birdie putt. Bill's score could have been better if he hadn't hit his buggy with his drive on the 3rd.
Rob C started the day in fine fettle, scoring birdies on the 2nd & 9th for a front nine 41. Unfortunately, a couple of double bogies on the back nine brought him back into the field with a 45. Net 72 on the day was still a fine return.
Shane Smith also carded 2 birdies (2nd, 15th) whilst singles went to Jase W (11th) & Brian P & Cooper (16th).
Jase nearly drove the 2nd hole, finishing 15cm short of the green, Great drive Jase.
Rowdy was heading for a hat trick today, fortunately he missed out, as it was a hat trick of "shanks".
Goog had an indifferent day today. His highlight, "I didn't lose a ball". His lowlight, " I three putted the first 10 holes". To add insult to injury, to relieve his frustration after completing his round, he drove his ball from the first tee & "absolutely flushed it". "My best drive of the day".
Special mention to one of our junior members, Ozzi Smith who made the second round of the SAPSARSA tournament. Well done Ozzi.
Good news this week. Iberdrola are donating $3000 from the Iberdrola Community Fund, towards the purchase of a secondhand greens mower. Over the past couple of years, Iberdrola have sponsored our Junior Development Program & their continued support with this recent pledge, is very much appreciated & allows the club to continue the development of the course & facilities. Thank you, Iberdrola.
Next week is the 3rd qualifying round of the club championship, let's hope we can get a full field.
