Wreckin Wednesday's!

A Sydney Harbour wreck that doesn't look like this anymore. The mast has now fallen down.
I was lucky enough to come across this wreck with a client quite a few years ago. It's one of my favourite screenshots I've ever taken. Right conditions, right boat speeds, right angle and right settings. There's a lot of factors to consistently get great readings and when it all comes together it brings a little smile to my dial. 😉 Want to learn how to maximize your time on the water? Shoot me a message!

Got away for a quick strike mission north at the start of the week. Not all went to plan though. 2 shreaded tyres on the boat trailer on the side of the Bruce. Went to leave the ramp at 5am and steering was all over the shop with the auto pilot. Took over manually and noticed all the steering fluid at my feet. No good! 😪
Wardy bear hugged the motor back to ramp for steering and we retrieved the boat and pulled the console apart to find the issue. Split hose located and back to the local mechanic who got us sorted with new hose, put console back together and on the water by 10.30am. Our 2 day trip was now 1 1/2 day's but the quality was still found. Some epic fishing the first afternoon followed up with a few belter Fingers the 2nd day. The 6 and 7in Wilson Wild Shrimps were the standouts. Fished on the HD heads where possible and 3oz jigheads when fishing 30m plus. The Mustad Ink Vaders also a great option for that shallow reef and Island headlands fishing. Cant wait to get back up there!

Wreckin Wednesday's!

I can't be 100% sure here, but not sure if the scaffolders wanted an early knock on a Friday when told to drop the scaff?

This structure was not in the Hawkesbury 6 months ago when I visited. Thought it was a barge on the first pass. But then wasn't sure. Being directly under the bridge when I looked up , this seemed like the logical answer. 🤷

I wonder if the painters are missing some scaff?

Whats your thoughts? Scaff or barge?

Screenshot Sunday!

Quite often, I get people saying, "I don't use sidescan, I only fish offshore." It does obviously have its limitations but definitely a tool you should be using ALL of the time. Maybe not always a fish finding tool but an awesome structure locating tool.

This screenshot taken in 45m of water, showing a line of reef running out each side of the boat with majority of the structure to the left of the boat. In this shot we are covering 100m each side. That's a massive coverage of 200m or 2 football fields. That certainly makes structure and fish a lot easier to find over the 18m coverage we are seeing in this depth with traditional sonar.

Want to learn how to maximize its use inshore and offshore? Give me a call.

Thanks Nick

Wreckin' Wednesdays!

A little Moreton Bay gem. This boat lays over on its side. Always holds a lot of bait and gold spot cod. Quite often find snapper and jew here but a lot of the time sitting a lot wider of the wreck. You don't always have to be right on top of the structure to find the fish. 😉
