🤠 SWANS ARE OFF TO THE RODEO! 🐎🍻

Dust off the cowboy boots and get the hats ready — the Swans are heading down to the Waroona Rodeo on Saturday 21st November! 🦢🤠

It’s only about an hour and a half south, so you can make a weekend of it and camp for a night or two, or just head down for the day.

Everyone sort your own rodeo + camping tickets, and we’ll figure out the cars and the craic closer to the time.

Should be some craic — get the tickets booked and we’ll make a weekend of it! 🤠🍻🦢

Western Swans 1-10
St Gabriel's 1-11

Heartbreak for the Western Swans, who came within a single point of claiming the 2026 Western Australia Camogie Championship after an outstanding final that had everything.

The Swans were superb throughout the opening half and looked the better side for long periods. Every one of their first-half scores came from play, a testament to the quality of their attacking hurling, while St Gabriel's relied heavily on converted frees to stay within touching distance.

The midfield pairing of Emma O'Halloran and Sophia Connolly were outstanding, driving the team forward with relentless work rate and winning crucial possession. Up front, Sam Coomey was a constant menace, her first touch simply exceptional as she brought teammates into the game and caused problems every time the ball came her way. Aisling Lee got the Swans off the mark with the opening point of the final, setting the tone for a brilliant first-half display.

In defence, Marian Quaid seemed to be everywhere, breaking up attacks, winning possession and leading by example with another immense performance.

The second half saw St Gabriel's enjoy their purple patch as momentum swung their way. Despite the pressure, goalkeeper Áine Heweston produced one of the moments of the match with an incredible triple save, somehow denying three goal-bound efforts to keep the Swans in the contest.

Goals always looked like they would be decisive, and it was St Gabriel's who struck first, stretching their advantage to four points.

The Swans refused to surrender. With time running out, Marian Quaid found Sam Coomey, whose clever pass released Sophia Connolly to fire to the net, setting up a dramatic finish. Unfortunately, the comeback came just a little too late.

The final whistle confirmed a heartbreaking 1-11 to 1-10 defeat, but the Swans can be immensely proud of a courageous, entertaining performance that showcased the quality and spirit of this team. On another day, the result could easily have gone the other way.

A huge congratulations to St Gabriel's on a fantastic victory, and to every member of the Western Swans panel and management for a season they can be incredibly proud of

Unfortunately, our championship journey came to an end in the semi-final against Perth Shamrocks. Credit to Shams, who were the better team on the day and deserved their victory. While we didn't get much luck with some of the key moments, that's sport.

A huge thank you to all of our players and management for their incredible commitment, dedication and effort throughout the season. Your hard work has been a credit to the club.

We wish perth shamrocks hurling club and Sarsfields Hurling Perth the very best in the championship final.

Now it's over to our camogie team as they prepare for their championship final. Best of luck, girls – the whole club will be behind you!

Western Swans 2-9 – 1-2 Éire Óg

Western Swans are Championship Final bound! 💛🖤
After a sluggish opening half, the Swans produced a superb second-half turnaround to overcome Éire Óg and book their place in the Championship Final with a 2-9 to 1-2 victory.
It was Éire Óg who controlled proceedings early on. Their midfield and centre-back dictated the game, while their relentless work rate and tackling made life extremely difficult for the Swans. Although Marian Quaid and Fiona Long stood tall in defence with outstanding performances, our forwards struggled to find any rhythm. Sam Coomey provided a valuable outlet throughout the opening period, but at half-time we found ourselves trailing and well below our usual standards.
The second half was a completely different story.
With the aid of a strong breeze and the introductions of Shauna, Sophia, Neamh and Aisling, the game swung dramatically in the Swans' favour. The experience and composure of the four substitutes proved decisive, with all four making a huge impact and getting their names on the scoresheet. Their energy lifted the entire team, and suddenly the Swans were playing with confidence, purpose and intensity.
From there, the girls never looked back, turning a half-time deficit into a convincing 2-9 to 1-2 victory and securing a deserved place in the Championship Final.
A fantastic response from the entire squad after a difficult first half, showing the resilience and character that has been a hallmark of this team all season.

Onto the final! Up the Swans! 💛🖤
