Congratulations Kate on being recognised as our well-deserved COTM winner! šŸ†

Meet Kate, a busy wife, and working mum whose impact on our community is felt whenever she is there. A true silent achiever, Kate always has a big smile on her face, is willing to give anything a go and brings such a calm and lovely energy to our community.

Since joining moam, Kate has embraced every opportunity to step outside her comfort zone, push herself further and rediscover her love of training. Along the way she’s found not only results, but an incredible community of women who inspire her to keep showing up.

With her next challenge already locked in, Kate is preparing to take on HYROX alongside a team of incredible MOAM ladies.

Kate’s story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes all it takes is the right environment, the right support and a willingness to give yourself a chance. šŸ’œ

Kate’s Story…

I joined MOAM about a year ago, looking for something to inspire me again.

I’ve always exercised, but usually on my own and I was bored and stuck and not seeing any good results.

MOAM has been a game changer.

I’ve been encouraged to push myself to do things I’ve never done before, I’ve had so much fun meeting a group of beautiful people.

I look forward to planning my week around my sessions and they’re some of my favourite parts of my day.

The coaches are wonderful, sessions are so much fun and the community of ladies is inspiring and joyful.

Your mindset won’t solve all your problems.

But it will determine what you do next.

Whether you give up or keep going.

Whether you focus on what’s missing or what’s possible.

Whether you stay stuck in the story you’ve always told yourself, or decide to write a new one.

At Mums on a Mission, we’ve watched women do things they once swore they could never do.

Not because they suddenly became fitter, stronger, or more confident.

They became fitter, stronger, and more confident because they stopped believing they couldn’t.

Honestly, the biggest transformation isn’t physical.

It’s the moment you realise you’ve been capable all along. šŸ’œ

Being a mum is hard.

Not because we don’t love it, but because so much of ourselves gets poured into everyone else.

We carry the mental load, the responsibility, the worry, the planning, the remembering.

We spend so much time making sure everyone around us is okay that we often forget to check in with ourselves.

That’s why this community matters.

There is something incredibly powerful about having a circle of women who genuinely see you.

Women who cheer for your wins, sit with you through the hard days, listen without judgement, and remind you of your strength when you’ve forgotten it yourself.

When we have that kind of support, something shifts.

We become kinder to ourselves. We start backing ourselves. Our confidence grows. We stop playing small. We take up space.

We try things we never thought we could do and achieve things we never imagined possible.

The fitness is just one small part of it.

The real magic is watching women rediscover themselves in the company of other women who believe in them.

And if you’ve ever experienced that, you’ll know it has the power to change everything! šŸ’œ

And if you haven’t, it’s time to change that, hit the link in our bio and come experience the magic for yourself!

I was recently asked if I’ve had a lot of trauma in my life.

It stumped me, because no-one’s immune to hard times & I’m not sure what would qualify as ā€œa lotā€.

It did however open up a conversation with some of the MOAM members regarding safety while running.

As a teenager & young adult I used to run through Burns Beach when ONLY ā€œoldā€ Burns Beach was established.

It was Burns Beach road & mostly bush šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

However in 2006 developments started & my quiet runs were now filled with wolf whistles & cars honking.

There were a lot of men working on these houses.

As time went on I started to run into trouble. I was followed by cars several times noticing the same car would go around the roundabout & past me again & again & again.

1 time I was followed to my driveway where a Land Cruiser with it’s high beams at dusk stopped, facing my driveway as we had a stand off out the front.
I couldn’t see through the windscreen.

A couple months later someone made it into my house & attempted to get into my bedroom.

I’m grateful to this day that my sister had put a front door lock on that door to stop my other sister from stealing her clothes. That lock is what saved me.

The years went on & the near misses continued, I was followed, stalked & witness to indecent behaviour which resulted in jail time for the perpetrator.

Sometimes I wonder if I attracted these situations, other times I wonder if my hyper tuned intuition just makes me more aware.

I don’t think I’ll ever know.

One thing I know is the vulnerability I used to feel in these situations has been replaced by defiance.

I don’t know what I will face but I know I’m not ever going to go down without a fight.

You can train to look strong šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

But more importantly train to trade vulnerability for confidence 😊

Some days, the workout is the easy part.

It’s everything else that feels heavy. The mental load. The juggle. The pressure of trying to be everything to everyone.

Then something happens when a group of women come together with a shared purpose.
There’s movement, laughter, encouragement, and a reminder that you’re not doing life alone.

I’ve lost count of the number of times women have arrived feeling stressed, flat, overwhelmed or disconnected and left standing taller, smiling more, and feeling like themselves again.

That’s the magic of Mums on a Mission.

It’s not just about getting fitter. It’s about having a place where you’re supported, challenged, and reminded of who you are when life gets loud. šŸ’œ

There’s a shift that happens when women stop trying to do everything alone.

Not because life gets easier, but because it gets shared.

The load, the energy, the effort, it becomes something we carry together instead of in silence.

And that changes everything.

You start showing up differently.

You stop disappearing into the background of your own life.

You remember what it feels like to be supported while you’re still becoming.

Have you felt that shift yet, or are you still carrying it all on your own?

That’s what makes our community different.

The training matters, absolutely!

But the way women feel when they’re here, that matters more.

So many women walk into our community carrying the same story.ā€œI can’t.ā€ā€œI’m not good enough.ā€ā€œWhat if I fail?ā€Overwhelm...

So many women walk into our community carrying the same story.

ā€œI can’t.ā€
ā€œI’m not good enough.ā€
ā€œWhat if I fail?ā€

Overwhelmed by the noise in their own head, doubting themselves before they’ve even begun.

But then something shifts.

They’re surrounded by women who cheer louder, believe bigger, and remind them who they are before they can see it themselves.

And slowly, ā€œI can’tā€ turns into, ā€œWhy not me?ā€

That’s where the magic happens.

Not just participating in the things they once only dreamed about, but growing, backing themselves, pushing limits, thriving, and becoming the reason another woman believes she can too.

If you’re still reading, this is your sign to stop sitting on the sidelines wondering if you can, and start finding out what happens when you finally say YES to yourself.

Congratulations Kym on being recognised as our well-deserved COTM winner! šŸŽ‰

Meet Kym, one of the biggest hearts and loudest hype girls in our community! Always cheering others on, lifting those around her up, and showing up with endless support, Kym is the kind of person who makes Mums On A Mission what it is.

Despite the impact she has on everyone around her, she remains incredibly humble, never seeking the spotlight, just genuinely wanting to see others win.

Kym trains with grit, intensity, and determination, leading by example every single session. She’s become such a strong leader within our community, inspiring others not only through the way she trains, but through the way she makes people feel. šŸ’œ

Kym’s story will have you smiling ear to ear, so grab a cuppa and keep reading! šŸ‘‡šŸ¾

I joined Mums on a Mission way back in 2017 just before my youngest child turned one. He will be ten this year!

At the time, I wanted to make a positive change for myself and my health as I found being home with little ones pretty tough. It was great to be able to take the kids along when I needed to.

I had previously enjoyed being active but wouldn’t have considered myself the committed exercising type! Fast forward all those years and I haven’t looked back.

I have found MOAM to be such a positive thing – way beyond the fitness benefits. Getting into the outdoors, seeing friends, and being part of something fun; these things are hard to measure.

I’ve been able to attempt things I would never have dreamed of – lifting weights, Hyrox races, multiple running events with the most recent being the Margaret River Ultra team relay on the weekend.

There is something really special about being part of this group and I know just showing up to a class can really turn your day and mood around for the better. I look forward to many more good times with everyone at MOAM 😊
