We’re excited to share our newly renovated studio with our local community!

Pilates Utopia Perth is a small, family-run business located upstairs at The Market Place shopping centre. We’ve been part of the community for nearly seven years, having the privilege of working with amazing people along the way.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Jai, Bec and our wonderful instructors are here to help you feel welcome, move with confidence and find a class that suits you.

If you’re local and curious about Pilates, we’d love to welcome you in. We offer Reformer Pilates, Matwork, Barre, Strength & Conditioning and Stretch classes, and have over 40 classes on our timetable each week.

You can find us upstairs at The Market Place—come and see our refreshed space or download the Pilates Utopia Perth app for all the info 😊

Tiny hands, big impressions. Showing our kids we make time to move teaches them that self-care is part of everyday life. Pilates + parents = lifelong habits.

The best lessons aren’t taught with words — they’re shown. Let your child grow up seeing movement, balance, and self-care as part of daily life.

Let us introduce ourselves!

I'm Bec, and together with my husband Jai, we are the passionate owners and heart behind Pilates Utopia Perth - our Pilates and Strength studio right here in Ballajura.

We have 5 children (3 girls and 2 boys) and 2 grand children (a little boy and little girl)
We have been operating for nearly six years from The Market Place Shopping Centre where we've been dedicated to creating a welcoming, empowering space for building strength, increasing flexibility, and enhancing peoples overall well-being.

A bit about us: I'm an ex-dancer with a full teaching diploma from CSTD, a fully qualified STOTT Pilates instructor specializing in 1:1 rehabilitation sessions, and a STOTT Pilates Instructor Trainer for Australia and Asia. Jai is an educator and assessor for Cert 3 & 4 in fitness, a Level 2 Animal Flow instructor, personal trainer and Pilates instructor.

With over 30 years combined experience in the movement industry, we bring together a unique blend of contemporary Pilates and functional movement, focusing on rehabilitation and personalized guidance for every client.

Together, we've built Pilates Utopia Perth into a trusted local hub for Pilates and movement enthusiasts of all levels, combining expert knowledge with genuine care. Our shared vision continues to inspire and transform lives in and around the Ballajura community.

We can't wait to welcome you to our Pilates family!

Keeping Pilates exercises simple and functional is key to helping clients build efficient, adaptable movement patterns. Instead of focusing on fancy moves, emphasize mastering the basics and progressively challenging the body in practical ways.
• Start with foundational Pilates exercises that teach efficient movement patterns. These form the building blocks for strength, control, and coordination.
• Challenge clients by changing their body position: seated, high kneeling, four-point kneeling, standing, and side-lying. This variation helps develop balance and control in different contexts.
• Modify resistance by changing spring tension—go heavier or lighter. Let's promote adaptability in our clients.
• Life's movements are rarely perfectly bilateral or confined to the sagittal plane.
Include unilateral exercises and movements in multiple planes to improve functional strength and coordination.
• Even if you're 'advanced' start with shorter lever movements and gradually increase lever length to build strength and control safely.
Teach, then challenge.
By focusing on simple, functional exercises and progressively challenging clients through varied positions, resistance, and movement patterns, Pilates Utopia Perth can set clients up for success and prepare them to move efficiently in everyday life. This approach builds adaptable bodies ready for real-world demands.
