What a massive year it has been. As the 2026 season comes to an end, everyone on the committee and across the club couldn't be prouder of what we’ve accomplished. 💫

Sure, a few recent calls didn't fall our way, but we'd rather focus on the incredible heart and grit our boys showed from round one to the final whistle.

Being the underdog isn't always easy, but this team never took a backward step. They proved that true determination goes way beyond the scoreboard.

When people look back at the 2026 Oakey side, this is what it’s all about:

❤️ Bringing back the heart and putting that Oakey jersey where it belongs.

💪Sheer toughness - refusing to give an inch, no matter what was thrown at them.

⛓️‍💥 Breaking the 14 year drought to finally get this club back into the finals.

🦸‍♂️ Being local heroes to all our junior players. Seeing the connection between the kids and the seniors is what it's all about, just a tight knit bunch of local mates giving it everything, week in and week out.

TO OUR FANS: You showed up and backed us all year. You reminded us that footy is so much more than just a game - it’s community, it’s passion, and it’s ours. Thank you for making this the most memorable season in recent history.

TO OUR SPONSORS: When we asked you to believe, you did. When we asked for support, you delivered every single time. We couldn't do any of this without you.

The 2026 season has come to an end, but make no mistake, we’ll be back stronger in 2027 with some serious unfinished business. 🖤🤍🐻

A HUGE DAY FOR THE OAKEY BEARS 🐻🖤🤍

The Oakey Bears created history today, hosting their first ever semi-final in the history of the club, and what a day it was.

Dalby Diehards and the Pittsworth Danes got us underway with a fantastic game, followed by another great contest between Gatton Hawks and the Pittsworth Danes. It was a great day of footy and a wonderful occasion for our club and community.

Then it was time for our boys.🐻

Oakey came out firing in front of one of the biggest crowds ever seen in Oakey, racing out to a 16–0 lead with three unanswered tries. But we knew it was never going to be easy against the back to back premiers.

Gatton Hawks fought their way back into the contest and eventually took a 22–16 lead. Oakey were on the back foot for much of the night, but every player from 1–17 stood up and continued to work hard and play tough football.

Then, as he has done so many times this year, Dwayne Duncan stepped up.

Dwayne scored an important try and converted to level the scores, setting up a huge finish.

With four minutes to go, Oakey received the ball and Nugget took off, running the ball off the back fence and giving everything he had to get us up the field.

Then came another big moment from Dwayne Duncan, with an all or nothing play creating the opportunity for Joey Alberts to cross and give Oakey the lead.

From there, the boys held on to secure the win and book our place in next week’s game.

But this team is tough 💪

A massive effort from every player, coach, sponsor, volunteer and supporter who has helped get us to this point. We are incredibly proud of the way the boys fought for each other tonight.

A special mention to Dwayne, Joey, Nugget and every single player who played their part, but this was a true team effort.

We are grateful for the incredible support from everyone who came out and got behind the Bears. Your support means so much to the club.
