National Volunteer Week was celebrated at SCRDA this week by giving our much loved Volunteers a token of our appreciation: pins and badges were given out in recognition of the precious time our Volunteers give us to help others...
We could not do what we do without YOU!
Some SCRDA Volunteers received 5, 10, 15 or 20 year badges, and some of our newest volunteers received lapel pins.
Marty Hunt MP awarded pins and badges to our Tuesday volunteers and on Wednesday Ted O'Brien MP - Federal Member for Fairfax awarded volunteer badges and pins.... Thankyou!
The theme for 2026 Volunteer week is " Your Year to Volunteer "

Before and After : The Paddock 4 and 5 Holding yard was unsafe for our horses, the SCRDA participants with a disability and our volunteers.
We are extremely grateful to The Crosby Foundation for funding its complete replacement.
Southern Cross Fencing Contractors very generously were able to come in over the holiday break to complete this work to a very high standard. Thanks Richard.

SCRDA has had a huge week...
Over 40 people joined us for our Orientation & Induction day💥 that's a record #.. Our Volunteer Training Week was fabulous and very well attended by many Volunteers.
BIG thanks to the Guest speakers: Katherine Apel, Emma Young MMCP- Masterson Method AU, Anne Winning, Emmas Barefoot Trimming, Hippotherapist Lindi Davison, Simon Fielder Horsemanship, Lisa ChilMan Equine and Counselling, Chris - Understanding the Side Walking Role, and lastly Carriage Driving Teamwork.

Sports Vouchers are currently open for applications.
Every Queensland child aged 5 to 17 is eligible for one voucher per financial year.
If you’re a Queensland parent, carer or guardian, you can apply for a voucher of up to $200 for your child to use for sporting memberships, registration or participation fees.... SCRDA is a registered activity provider.
Key Dates:
🐎29 January 2026: Round 2 opened for parents, carers or guardians to apply for vouchers
🐎12 June 2026: Round 2 voucher applications close (unless exhausted earlier)
🐎19 June 2026: Final date for vouchers received in Rounds 1 and 2 to be presented to an activity provider.

Today's WORKING BEE was great..... Thank You to all the Tuesday Volunteers who showed up 🧹
We now NEED tomorrow's Wednesday 🧼 & then Thursday Volunteers... 9am to 12... 🗓
.. This working 🐝 means we will be ready for Orientation & Induction & Training the following week... & programs the next 🐎
.. The renovations of the foyer and double office space over the holidays = dust 😷

🖐 Many hands will make light work to sweep (or vacuum), dust and wipe down surfaces and the odd bit of mopping... 🪣
