Reality Self Defense and Conditioning officially launched on this day in 2006 marking 20 years of being in small business today.

That is no small feat.

We’ve seen it all - births, deaths, marriages, divorces, pandemics, GFC’s, you name it we’ve been through it and are still standing.

If there’s one thing small business teaches you, it’s this - GRIT.

Still passionate.

Still loving what we do.

Still helping others achieve their goals of personal safety, health and fitness. Still delivering defensive tactics and functional training. Still on task and on mission.

Still here.

Thank you to all the people who have been a part of that journey. Instructors, coaches and mentors, students and clients. Thank you to all those who have supported us/me over the years.

Ok, the title is clickbait. It does. Reposting an old article

On average, most fighters or people training in combat sports are far, far more adequately equipped physically, technically, and psychologically to deal with real self-defense situations than most martial artists or Kravvers. They have forged their iron in the heat of gladiatorial battle, hard physical training and sparring. You can’t hide in combat sports or on the mats.

It’s far better than playing wanna be,
make believe, tough guy dress ups- that’s common place in Krav Maga or most “reality based” training.

And that’s coming from an Expert Level 2 Israeli trained Krav instructor (6/7 trips to expert camps and testing in Israel)

It’s been a while since posting. Something that has come up recently is this.

If you can’t box, kick, stand up clinch or wrestle a bit or be able to handle yourself on the ground, then you should be skipping all the gun defence and fancy knife fighting 💩

It’s not a very likely scenario, and the better you are at striking and grappling the less likely you are to end up dealing with these scenarios.

You’d be statistically more likely to trip and fall over - so go practice some rolls and breakfalls instead.

Get really good at the most likely things, and you’re much less likely to be faced with the unlikely thing.

So much self defence is playing dress ups and make believe for want to be tough guys who refuse to train basic combat sports.
