Planning a trip to the Moree Plains?
We get asked the same questions again and again โ so here are five to help you start planning!
1. What is Moree famous for?
Our natural artesian waters! Moree is renowned for its mineral-rich thermal waters, sourced from the Great Artesian Basin.
2. What is there to do besides soaking?
Plenty! Explore our art galleries and mural trail, discover local history, walk or cycle along the Mehi River, spot birdlife at the Gwydir Wetlands, or venture further across the Plains.
3. How do I get to Moree?
Moree is one of the few regional NSW destinations that can be reached by train, plane or road. NSW TrainLink services connect Moree with Sydney via the North West route, and regular flights operate between Moree and Sydney. For many travellers, the best way to experience the Moree Plains is by car, allowing time to explore our small communities and the surrounding countryside at your own pace.
4. Where should I stay?
From hotels and motels with artesian pools to caravan parks, camping, farm stays and self-contained accommodation, there are plenty of ways to stay your way.
5. When is the best time to visit?
Thereโs something to enjoy year-round! Whether you're chasing a winter soak, a spring road trip, summer water adventures or autumn events, every season has its own reason to slow down and explore.
