Match report 28/2 (Semi Final @ Paruna vs Brownswell)
Wow wow wow! What a day for the Monash Cricket Club it was! With a serious doubt of even a game being played the boys went out to Paruna to face Brownswell CC for a spot in the Grand Final!
Kyle lost another toss and we were given the ball to start the game. The game plan was simple, win and do it before the rain comes and the boys started off with a bang. Jimmy Williams getting the massive wicket of Hampel with the nice catch from Lucas. James Patterson offered some resistance finding boundaries before a very important run out of his brother Gus by our 12th man fielder Liam. From here, momentum was on our side. Caden then got James, Lucas got Carel and Caden struck again getting the final Patterson brother out. Ryan and Lucas picked up another wicket each with Kyle getting the final wicket and Brownswell all out for 86.
With the decision of playing the game as a T20, Morgan went bang with 3 quick 4's as Adam copped a good one and was dismissed. It allowed the skipper Kyle to get to business quickly and quickly he did, scoring 60 not out off 38 balls! Lucas being at the other end rotating the strike the boys managed to chase down the 87 in 10.2 overs.
The boys now face off with Renmark North in a T20 Grand Final rematch at Renmark oval 1pm on Saturday. Hope to see everyone there!
