Can you believe another season is done?!?

Well done to the whole team for an amazing year, whilst we didn’t notch up a win on the board, I truly believe that our team won where it mattered.
We started the year unsure of if we would take the field but by sheer determination, will power and commitment by our players, parents and caregivers we managed to take the field each week and take the game to much stronger teams.
Half our team played against older, fitter, more developed players and with the guidance of the older players in our team, we held our own and kept the games against our opposition competitive but friendly and fun. They certainly didn’t expect to stand up for ourselves and give as good as we got!
It has been a privilege, and an honour, to stand on the sideline this season, watch our kids grow in confidence and football maturity and occasionally call out rather passionately!
The final game saw us take on the well-polished Muswellbrook Blue team. Whilst the game didn’t go our way on the score board, we held our own.

Special mention to Freddy Meyer for his first individual try of his playing career and congratulations to Myles Hvirf for crossing the line after some brilliant play down the edge by Lachy, Nate and Nicho.

The Maggie M award - decided by the opposing coach or match official- went to Charlie Constable. Each week Charlie puts his body on the line, and this week was no different. Charlie’s defence kept the Muswellbrook forward pack quiet and in a stunning solo defensive effort he was on the wing right on the buzzer defending against the final try. Charlie has been a constant throughout the whole season, and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Well done to all our coaches with their last training run today for the 2026 season.
U8’s had a team bbq, U6’s had a pizza party earlier in week….
And a few teams had a fun last training session today - a cake party for our U7’s and parents / coaches v’s players in kick tennis with the GLT U12’s

Our very own Junior Magpie legend - Alby Caban represented the Hunter Valley Group 21 Rugby League Referees' Association on the weekend at McDonald Jones Stadium Newcastle where he assisted refereeing some mini / mod games during the half time break, .
He even got to meet Knights legend Matty John’s.
