Mernda Cricket Club The Mernda Cricket Club is affiliated with the Diamond Valley Cricket Association We're a family orientated club with a focus on junior cricket development.

Our junior program consists of: Woolworths Blaster Programs, U10 and U12 Modified, U12, U14, U16 & U18. We're always on the look out for the next Steve Smith or Pat Cummins, so please ask us for more information on signing up!

Introducing the Mernda Cricket Club Committee for the 2026/27 Season

As we prepare for another exciting season, we’d like to officially welcome and congratulate our appointed committee members.

These dedicated volunteers will be working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our club continues to grow, support our players, and provide a great environment for everyone involved with the Demons.

A huge thank you to all committee members for putting their hands up to help lead our club into the upcoming season. Your time, passion, and commitment are greatly appreciated.

We look forward to another fantastic year of cricket, community, and club success both on and off the field.

After a few seasons away from the field, we’re thrilled to announce that James Taylor will be pulling on the red and blue again in 2026/27!

Since first joining the club in 2019, Tails has been a loyal Mernda family member, leading our First XI through several COVID-affected seasons before stepping away and supporting the club from the sidelines more recently. He brings a wealth of cricket experience back with him and will play a key role with the bat, and in mentoring and developing our young group!

The Mernda Cricket Club is excited to announce former Sri Lankan international all-rounder Dilhara Lokuhettige will be joining the club later this year as a playing Assistant Coach. Dilhara brings a wealth of experience from across the world game, including international cricket for Sri Lanka, domestic T20 competitions around the globe, and many successful seasons in Australian club cricket. A powerful middle-order batsman and seam bowler, he has built a strong reputation for his knowledge of the game, professionalism and passion for developing players.

Beyond his playing resume, Dilhara has extensive coaching and mentoring experience working with developing cricketers across senior and junior programs. His understanding of batting, bowling, match awareness and player development will be a fantastic asset to our group as we continue building both on and off-field performances.

We look forward to welcoming Dilhara and his family to the club later in the year!

The Mernda Cricket Club is excited to announce the appointment of reigning Paddy Deayton medalist, Gareth Sharp as Senior Coach for the 2026/27 season.

Joining the club in 2025/26 as an assistant, Gareth’s impact was immediate and with senior coaching experience at Broadford Cricket Club and Odiham & Greywell Cricket Club (UK) already under his belt, the club is excited by what Gareth can bring to the role and we look forward to him taking the next step in his coaching career with us.
