Mernda United Cricket Club is incredibly proud of Ishan Peiris and Hashan James, who represented MYCA Victoria in Brisbane during the interstate representative carnival and played key roles in two outstanding victories for Victoria.

🏏 Game 1 – MYCA Victoria def. Warehouse Representative Team by 152 Runs

The Victorian side produced a dominant performance, posting 8/260 before dismissing the opposition for 108.

The Mernda United Premier Black side rolled into Donnybrook's backyard today and put on a performance so complete, so clinical, so utterly ruthless that the result was never in doubt. This wasn't just a win this was a statement. 💪

Mernda Black's bowling attack came out firing and dismantled Donnybrook for just 156 and every single bowler did their job to perfection.
⭐ Saman Kumara Muthuwadige the destroyer in chief. 6.2-0-36-3. Three wickets and relentless pressure every time he ran in. 🔥

Result: PVCC won by 6 runs

Let us paint you a picture. Mill Park Secondary College. Bright winter sun. And Mernda Grey staring down the barrel of complete and utter collapse. 9 wickets down. 143 on the board. 91 runs still needed to WIN. Most teams fold. Most players crumble. But standing at the crease cool, composed, and absolutely DEADLY was one man.

Sajith Dissanayaka. 🦁

What followed was nothing short of miraculous. Ball after ball, boundary after boundary, SIX after SIX after SIX Sajith put on a last-wicket masterclass for the ages alongside the cool-headed Roshin John Varughese (25*). A tough result today for Mernda United Premier Black, going down to Merrifield Panthers by 58 runs at Mill Park Secondary College.

Merrifield posted a strong 8/223 from their 35 overs, and despite a determined chase, Mernda were bowled out for 165 in 30.2 overs.

There were still plenty of positives to take from the game with some strong individual performances across batting, bowling and fielding.

🔥 Dilly Pathirana added an aggressive 27.
🔥 Dilan Liyanage started strongly with a quick 22 off 18 balls.
