We are excited to announce that registrations are open for the ACT Cuboree!

Cuboree is the largest event on the Cub Scout calendar and is held only once every three years. It is a 5 day, 4 night camp. It brings together Cub Scouts from across the region for an unforgettable week of adventure, learning, friendship, and fun.

This year's Cuboree will feature a range of exciting activities across four program bases:

🏕️ Home Base – Camp Cottermouth Precinct
Duty Patrol activities
Railway experiences
Drones
Robotics
Chill Zone activities

🌿 Bush Base – Cotter Bend and River Precinct
Indigenous engagement activities
Bushwalking
Walkabout Award opportunities
Pioneering and survival skills

🚣 Water Base – Hosted by Lake Tuggeranong and Lake Ginninderra Sea Scout Groups
Water safety
Sailing
Canoeing
Kayaking

🔬 Science Base – Parliamentary Triangle
Visit to Questacon
Visit to Floriade

Cost
Cub Scouts: $450 per youth member
Adult Helpers: $250 per adult
The cost includes all camp activities, meals and accommodation.

As this is a significant event and a wonderful opportunity for our Cubs, 1st Merimbula Scout Group is committed to helping as many young people attend as possible.

Cuboree is often described as a highlight of a Cub Scout's journey, offering experiences and friendships that will be remembered for years to come. We strongly encourage all eligible Cubs to consider attending.

✈️ Aviation Camp Registrations Closing Soon! ✈️

A huge thank you to everyone who has already registered for next week's SC&T Aviation Camp.

There is still time to join us, but registrations close this Saturday. We'd love to see a few more Scouts take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to experience a weekend of camping, aviation activities, and STEM learning right here on the Far South Coast.

We're also looking for a few more participants for the optional flight experience with the Scout Air Activity Centre. To make it viable for the aircraft and pilots to travel to Merimbula, we need a minimum number of flight bookings.

Participants can work towards their SIA Flight Badge while learning about the science and excitement of aviation.

If you've been thinking about coming, now is the time to register!

✈️ Camp registration is required for all attendees.
🛩️ A separate registration is required for the optional flight activity.

Last night was our annual "Freeze Your Halls Off" Camp, and the weather certainly delivered! It was a chilly night, but our Scouts were up for the challenge.

This camp is designed for the whole group and provides a great introduction to camping, with the option for newer members to sleep either in a tent or inside the hall.

Our older youth cooked their own dinner on camp stoves, while everyone else enjoyed sloppy joes. The evening featured a screening of Hoppers, followed by s’more cones around the campfire. Breakfast was topped off with Matt’s famous BBQ toasties.

A fantastic night of fun, friendship, and camping adventures!
