STRETCHING PROMOTES HYPERMOBILITY
Stretching can make you feel better short term… while making your mechanics worse long term.
Most people aren’t tight everywhere. They’re usually stiff in some areas and too mobile in others.
So what happens when you stretch the way most people do it? You often stretch the areas that are already unstable — and that increases laxity instead of solving the real problem.
Hypermobility isn’t an advantage. If you can access range but can’t control it under load, that range has no value.
Optimal ROM = usable ROM.
Range you can own while you stand, walk, run and throw.
That’s why we train in relation to the FP First 4:
• Standing
• Walking
• Running
• Throwing
The goal isn’t more stretching. It’s better distribution.
Stability where you’re loose.
Mobility where you’re stuck.
If you stretch daily but still feel “tight” — or you keep getting the same recurring niggles — DM me to learn more or book a consultation .
