🎤 July Holiday Program | Impromptu Speech Training for Year 5–10 Students

In today’s AI-driven world, students can use AI to help write essays, organise information, and even generate answers.

But there is one skill AI can never replace - the ability to think independently and communicate confidently in real time. 💭

When students stand in front of an audience and are asked to respond on the spot, they are not relying on memorised scripts. They are developing genuine critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills.

That is why Impromptu Speech training is becoming increasingly important for Year 5–10 students. ✨

Through impromptu speaking activities, students will learn to:

It was a privilege to be invited by the school today to deliver a Future Leader Workshop! ✨

We were excited to work with 16 Future School Leaders from Year 7 to Year 10 in an intensive 6-hour leadership program. Throughout the day, students showed outstanding enthusiasm, confidence, teamwork, and active participation.

Through a range of interactive activities and challenges, students developed their communication, public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills, while also learning what it means to become responsible and influential leaders.

It is always inspiring to see the passion and potential of the next generation. We look forward to seeing these young leaders continue to grow and make a positive impact on our community and society in the future! 🌟

Public Speaking Penguins – Term 2 (Years 5-7) 🐧🎤

Our Public Speaking Penguins program returns in Term #2 with an exciting new focus on storytelling and “Winning Anecdotes.”
Students will learn how to craft engaging stories and use personal moments to capture an audience’s attention – an essential skill for speeches, presentations and leadership.

Throughout the program, students will:
• Develop confidence speaking in a variety of settings
• Learn key elements of effective public speaking
• Practise presenting and receive supportive feedback
• Build strong communication skills in a fun environment

This program helps students grow into confident, capable speakers while enjoying the process of learning.

🏆 Rising Voices is BACK for 2026!

Our annual Public Speaking Championship returns with a brand new theme: 'Change'.

Open to students from Years 1 to 10 across five divisions, Rising Voices is a chance for young speakers to step up, build confidence and shine on stage.

📅 Here's how it works:

✅ Already an SSA student? If your child is enrolled in Term #2, they're automatically entered! Prelims happen in class during Week 6. No extra cost, no registration needed.

✅ Not an SSA student? No worries! External students can register for the online preliminaries running 1-3 June.

🏅 Semi-finals: 3 & 4 August (online)

🏅 Grand Final: Late August (in-person in Sydney, with online options available)
