From January 2027, VECL runs across two continents.

Three franchises in Melbourne. Four league-owned clubs
in Chennai. Seven clubs, one league, players moving in
both directions.

→ Australian players can apply to play the VECL India
Open in Chennai. The full season, or just the rounds
you're there for.

→ Selectors from IPL franchises will be attending.
Talent identification, in the country that does it
better than anywhere on earth.

→ December 2027: we intend to bring 10–15 Chennai
players to Melbourne for the VECL tournament.

A pathway is only a pathway if it goes somewhere.
This one goes to Chennai — and it comes back.

Introducing VECL Chennai Season 1 — a professionally organised Franchise T20 League for boys, girls, men and women.

This is not a one-weekend tournament. It is a complete cricket season where players can:

✅ Get selected
✅ Enter the player draft
✅ Represent a franchise
✅ Play competitive, professionally recorded cricket

DIVISIONS

🏏 Boys & Men: U12, U14, U16, U18 and Senior
🏏 Girls & Women: Girls U14, Girls U18 and Women — with their own competition

📅 Season: January–April 2027
📍 Matches played on Sundays
🎯 Team Selection Days: 6 and 13 December 2026
⏳ Registration closes on 22 November 2026

Selected players will enter the VECL player draft for allocation across four league-owned clubs:

• Sholinganallur Sharks
• Medavakkam Magnets
• Velachery Vikings
• Perungudi Panthers

🌏 ROAD TO MELBOURNE
We intend to select two Season 1 players to participate in the VECL Melbourne tournament in December 2027.
