A huge congratulations to everyone from Lalor Running Club who took part in the Brighton Running Festival last Sunday!

We’ve got Mel and Chris Cashion pictured here, looking fantastic!

And a big shout out to our other LRC members who got out there and took part too — even though we don’t have photos of everyone, we celebrate them also.

Whether you were chasing a PB, enjoying the course, or simply getting out there and having a great morning, well done to you all!

And as always, Sole Motive put on another amazing event!.

A massive Lalor Running Club shout out to all our members who headed north for Australia’s very own World Major Marathon, the Sydney Marathon!

For some, it was their first marathon.
For others, their first World Major.
For some, it was a chance at redemption after last year.
And for others, it was the ultimate training run on the road to Berlin.

Whatever the reason for lining up, you all took on 42.2km and represented LRC with pride.

And Sydney…..you certainly turned it on! ☀️ What a beautiful sunny day to run through one of the world’s most spectacular cities.

Starting by running across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with those incredible views and finishing with one of the prettiest finish lines in the world coming towards the Sydney Opera House!!

And a huge shout out to our LRC legends who came along to cheer! Seeing those familiar faces along the course was such a welcome sight, especially when the legs were getting tired.

There were smiles, nerves, sore legs, big achievements, plenty of grit and no doubt, a few questionable life choices along the way!

Congratulations to every single one of our LRC Sydney Marathon legends, runners and supporters alike.

You’ve all earned your medal!!

🏃‍♀️ SHEPPARTON RUNNING FESTIVAL 🏃‍♂️

As usual, we had an amazing turnout of Lalor Running Club members taking on the Shepparton Running Festival and WOW what a day!!

So many PBs, incredible efforts and I know there was plenty of blood, sweat and tears along the way!

Whether you smashed a PB, achieved a goal, pushed yourself further than you thought you could, or simply made it to that start line and got the job done, you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. ❤️💙

A massive WELL DONE to every single LRC runner. You all did an amazing job and once again showed what a fantastic bunch of runners we have at our club!

Be proud of yourselves, you absolutely earned it!

🌟 Guess who was FIRST FEMALE at the Trails+ Wonderfalls 50km! 🌟

Our very own Tuscany absolutely smashed the 50km ultra marathon — an incredibly tough and demanding course!!

River crossings, major elevation, technical trails and all the wild, beautiful challenges you’d expect from a proper Victorian trail adventure.

We are SO incredibly proud of you, Tuscany! ❤️💙

All those training kilometres, the hard work and the commitment paying off when it matters most. What an incredible achievement!

Congratulations Tuscany….what a superstar 🥇

A big shout out to Chief and her trademark rainbow curly wig!

We’re incredibly lucky to have so many amazing members who jump in to help lead and support our cheer squad throughout the year and we’d love to recognise one of our regular contributors, Chief.

This photo was taken before Run Melbourne last weekend……well before sunrise, in the freezing cold, before most people had even arrived. After volunteering all day at a Trails Plus event the day before, she was out bright and early to cheer on our runners with her usual enthusiasm and energy.

Thank you, Chief for always bringing the colour, the encouragement and the smiles. We really appreciate everything you do! ❤️💙

Sometimes things don't go to plan... and they end up even better!

After missing out on a half marathon entry at the Gold Coast Running Festival, Chris and Melissah Cashen headed north for the Cairns Running Festival instead.

It turned out to be a pretty good decision! Melissah absolutely smashed her half marathon PB, taking an incredible 7 minutes off her previous best. A huge shout out to Chris as well, who paced her the whole way and helped her achieve her best half marathon yet.

Massive congratulations to you both! It's always great seeing our LRC members chasing their goals, making the most of every opportunity, and coming home with something to celebrate. Well done, Cashens!

A huge congratulations to the Parris family on celebrating an incredible 10 years of parkrun!

What better place to mark such a special milestone than at Victory Road Reserve parkrun? It seems like the perfect fit!

Pictured are Ali, Jamie and Jess, with Jess set to officially celebrate her own 10-year parkrun anniversary this September. What an amazing family achievement and such a wonderful example of the friendships, memories and healthy habits that parkrun creates.

Here's to many more Saturday mornings, milestone shirts, finish line smiles and years of celebrating together. Congratulations, Parris family!

Dirk successfully completed the epic Challenge Roth 2026 Triathlon in Germany this past weekend! This incredible event, known as the home of triathlon, saw nearly 4,600 athletes from over 110 nations tackling the gruelling 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling, and 42.2 km run.

Dirk's journey to the finish line was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite facing a major setback with a lung embolism earlier this year, Dirk pushed through with immense determination and courage.

From battling leg cramps in the swim to navigating rain-soaked roads during the bike leg, and overcoming blisters and cuts in the run, Dirk showed relentless spirit by finishing the race strong and proud.

The atmosphere was electric, with thousands cheering on all athletes. For the full, inspiring tale of Dirk's triathlon adventure, you can read the complete blog on the LRC website: https://lalorrunningclub.com.au/blog/f/overcoming-obstacles-challenge-roth-2026

Congratulations to all of our LRC members who made the trip north to the sunny Gold Coast for the 2026 Gold Coast Running Festival!

What an incredible weekend it was, with LRC members represented across every event—from the 5km right through to the mighty Marathon, with some even taking on multiple events!

For some, it was another crack at conquering the marathon. For others, it was an unforgettable first marathon finish. No matter the distance or the goal, every achievement deserves to be celebrated.

A huge shout-out also goes to those who weren't racing but were out on the course cheering, encouraging and supporting our runners every step of the way. Your energy makes all the difference!

To top off a fantastic weekend, many of us came together for a celebratory dinner at Clocks in Surfers Paradise, sharing stories, laughs and well-earned meals.

Congratulations to everyone involved. We're so proud of each and every one of you!

📸 Here are a few happy snaps from the weekend.

Missing from the dinner photo: David Hamilton.
