ABADÁ-Capoeira stands for Brazilian Association to Support and Develop the Art of Capoeira. Our school has about 60,000 members worldwide and together we have spread Capoeira, Brazilian Culture and Portuguese language to more than 50 countries. ABADÁ-Capoeira believes in using Capoeira as an effective vehicle for promoting social change and integration and stimulating individual growth. We acknowl
edge and pay respect to the Traditional Custodians of the lands upon which our classes locations are situated, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We also acknowledge and pay respect to the Ancestors and Elders of the First Nation’s peoples of Brazil as well as the enslaved Africans who were brought to Brazil during the Atlantic slave trade. We strive to create safe spaces, respectful behaviours, and inclusive cultures towards LGBTQIA+ communities at all times. We are mindful of complex intersectionalities across genders, faiths, ethnicities, linguistic diversities, and other factors with their dynamics that are ever-changing over time. We pledge to be improving our ways into the future, always willing to share platforms for voices of the communities and individuals.
