Brunswick Juventus FC Brunswick Juventus is an Australian Football Club based in Melbourne, Australia that was first formed in 1948.

The club was formed in 1948 as 'Juventus' by Italian migrants from an amalgamation of several smaller clubs. Brunswick Juventus became the dominant side of Victorian football in the 1950s, winning six titles, including five consecutive titles from 1952–1956, and were arguably the club which ushered in the European migrant dominance of Victorian football, which remains to this day. In 1977 Juventus

declined the opportunity to play in the newly created National Soccer League (NSL). In 1980 the club changed its name from Juventus to Brunswick United Juventus. When the NSL created the conference system in 1984, Brunswick finally joined the national league ranks, and after reaching the finals in their debut season, followed it up with their greatest achievement, the 1985 NSL title, defeating Heidelberg, South Melbourne and Preston in the southern conference play-offs before eventually defeating Sydney City over two legs in the Grand Final. Brunswick Juventus have been represented by many Socceroos over the years, including the likes of Mark Bresciano, Danny Tiatto, Paul Wade, Mike Petersen, Mehmet Durakovic, Fausto De Amicis and Simon Colossimo.

On the week following our incredible promotion it’s almost fitting that one of our media outlets wanted to share their story with our club legend Dino De Marchi.

Dino was born in Australia, but Brunswick Juventus was in his blood.

A striker and one of the club’s great goal scorers, Dino became part of a generation that carried the traditions of their parents into a new Australian football culture. For the Italian community of Melbourne, Brunswick Juventus was more than a football club — it was a place where heritage, family, friendship and football all came together.

Dino didn’t just wear the Juventus shirt. He helped give it meaning for the generations that followed. 🇮🇹💙⚽️

In 1991, Maria became President of Brunswick Juventus, breaking a barrier that had never been broken before.

She became the first female President of any sporting code in Australia, taking the helm of one of the country’s great Italian migrant football clubs during its National Soccer League era.

For Maria, Brunswick Juventus represented far more than football. It represented the Italian community, family, sacrifice, identity and belonging in Melbourne.

She served as President in 1991, 1992 and 1993, before returning to the club more than 30 years later.

In 2025, Maria Carmignani was once again President of Brunswick Juventus.

The same club. The same colours. A new generation — but the same connection.

That isn’t just a football story. It’s a story about breaking barriers, building community and never forgetting where you came from.

Some people leave a legacy. Others come back to continue it. 🇮🇹🖤🤍⚽️
