On the Same Page: A Journalling Workshop for Parents & Your 16-18 Year Old Teen
Being a parent or a teen right now is a unique challenge. Between the "mental load" of managing a family and the high-stakes pressure of being a young person today, it often feels like you’re both running too many programs at once. The result? Mental clutter, emotional exhaustion, and a disconnect that grows when we don’t have a shared language to navigate the stress.
The Solution: A System for Your Soul
Most people think journalling is just "dear diary" or a place to vent. But venting without a framework often keeps us stuck in the loop. I’m sharing the science of journalling and my signature framework, a structured tool for emotional regulation that I truly wish I’d had as a teen.
Rather than expecting your teen to navigate their internal world alone, this session allows you to get on the same page. Together, you’ll experience a new way of journalling, building a bridge of connection while you both learn to listen to your own inner wisdom.
What You Will Gain Together
* The Science of the "Settle" We’ll look at how putting pen to paper actually regulates the nervous system. You’ll learn how to "pause" the mental chaos and lower the volume on the external noise so you can finally hear yourself.
* The Framework for Clarity I’ll provide the specific structure that most journalling lacks. It’s a repeatable process that turns a messy "brain dump" into a clear path forward. You’ll experience step-by-step, how to make space for big emotions without getting swallowed by them.
* Listening to Inner Wisdom Instead of looking outward for answers (Google, social media, or peers), this tool teaches you both how to tap into your own "Internal Compass." You already have the answers; the journal is just the tool that reveals them.
* A Shared Way to Reset By learning and experiencing this framework together, you create a neutral ground. You’re not just a parent giving advice; you’re two humans practicing a life skill that enhances your connection to yourselves and each other.
The Outcome
You won't just leave with a notebook; you’ll leave with a Life Management Tool. A way to feel the full spectrum of your emotions, organise your thoughts, and keep moving forward with clarity, anytime, anywhere.

About Ingrid
Ingrid Jones is a Journal Writing Facilitator, Life Coach, and educator. While she has always found writing to be cathartic, it was the discovery of a structured, step-by-step approach that truly transformed her practice… and her life.
For the past six years, Ingrid has shared this signature framework with individuals and organisations, turning the "blank page" from a daunting space into a powerful tool for emotional regulation and clarity. She believes journalling is one of the most accessible forms of self-therapy available, a way to clear the mental clutter, listen to your inner wisdom, and move forward with an open heart.
Bringing her background as a primary school teacher into her work, Ingrid is an expert at creating nurturing, emotionally safe environments. Her sessions provide the time and guidance needed to move thoughts from a cluttered mind onto the page, allowing participants to feel empowered by their own insights.
A hallmark of Ingrid’s work is her ability to build a strong sense of community. She creates a space where people can genuinely connect and share discoveries without ever being asked to read their private journal entries aloud.
“Seeing the transformation in participants during a single session never fails to amaze me,” Ingrid says. “I call these profound results ‘the shift.’ It’s what lights me up and inspires me to do this work every day.”
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a lifelong writer, Ingrid welcomes you to join her in making space for the thoughts that matter and finding the clarity to keep moving forward.
