Tokyo here we are! This city is mind blowing.
Started the day with a very peaceful run along a river/canal near our accommodation. Little parks, cute houses, cherry blossoms….finished off with coffee.
Then off to Tokyo for Teamlab Borderless, in the rain….of course. We got lost 573 times on the metro, tears at one stage! Ended up in two taxis to try and make our booking, only to discover I’d booked for Monday! Doh!
We then went for a walk around the Imperial Palace Gardens, window shopping in exclusive shopping centres and then navigated the metro to try and get to Tokyo Skytree. Frustration again as we tried to work out lines, tickets, stations until out of the blue a magical angel called Aya asked if we needed help. She then hand led us through the entire metro system and an hour later delivered us to the queue of Skytree. Soooooo thankful for her.
Skytree was amazing, but the views were hindered by clouds.
After this we had dinner at the base of Skytower then headed back to Shibuya for night time viewing. Our accommodation is only two stops from here, so it’s good for shopping and site seeing.
Then back to our little “village” for a peaceful nights sleep. Day three we headed out of the city for little side adventure.
Early morning run finished off with a coffee in a tiny coffee shop near our accommodation. They roast their own beans on site. It was delicious.
Then we decided to do a day trip to Sagamiko to check out the lake. This then led to a 10km hike up a mountain where we found a gorgeous shrine, beautiful scenery, a quiet forrest and cute mountain streams.
We finished the day with watching the sunset over the lake.
