With only two rounds remaining before finals, the ladder is starting to get very interesting.

At the top, Medway Maulers, The Punters and Airport West Legends all got the job done and now sit together on 32 points, with percentage separating the top three.
The Maulers hold top spot for now, but there is very little room for error with the Punters and Airport West Legends breathing down their necks.

The biggest result of the round may have come from Weapons of Grass Destruction, who knocked off Gurus GC 138-134 and brought their four-game winning streak to a sudden halt.
Weapons now jump into 4th spot on 28 points and, importantly, have the best percentage in the competition. That could be massive in the race for the double chance.

Leftovers also remain right in the top four hunt after a strong 133-120 win over Unknown Team.

The middle of the ladder is where things are getting nervous. Snow White and 7 Hackers, Gurus GC and TITANS are all sitting on 24 points, occupying 6th, 7th and 8th. All three are still in finals position, but none of them are safe. One bad week now and the door opens.

And the team trying to kick that door down is Aceholes, who kept their finals hopes alive with a 138-128 win over Foreign Legion.
For Foreign Legion, it continues what is shaping as their worst season yet, almost a lock for the wooden spoon. One of the competition’s original powerhouse sides now finds itself at the wrong end of the ladder, and there may need to be some serious mirror time before Season 10.

As for the teams below, it is getting grim. Mix Grill, The Bosh Soldiers and Hagar’s Horribles can still mathematically get to 24 points, but they will need to win both remaining matches and hope for chaos above them. Basically, calculators out, prayers in.

Unfortunately for Unknown Team and Foreign Legion, the maths is now done. Both sides are stuck on 8 points with only two rounds left, meaning finals are officially out of reach.

So with two rounds to play, the big questions are now clear.
Who finishes top four and earns the second chance?
Who survives the squeeze in the middle of the ladder?
And can Aceholes sneak in late and ruin someone’s season?

Two rounds to go. Plenty still to play for.

The big story this week is the ladder.

Medway Maulers, The Punters and Airport West Legends are all now locked together on 28 points, with percentage deciding the order at the top.

The Maulers jump into first, The Punters sit second, and Airport West Legends have slipped to third after producing a team sheet that looked less like a golf side and more like a missing persons report, with only 3 scores registered.

Hagar’s Horribles produced the round’s biggest team score with a huge 145, led by Michael Ibrahim with 39. They may still be sitting down the ladder, but that was a serious statement win.

Weapons of Grass Destruction also had a massive result, knocking off Leftovers 142-134. Benjamin McInerney fired a brilliant 40 for Leftovers and still walked away with a loss, which feels both unfair and very Team Cup.

TITANS also kept themselves right in the finals hunt with a 142-135 win over Snow White and 7 Hackers.

Sam Schepis has finally entered the season properly for The Bosh Soldiers, posting 36 in a strong personal return. Unfortunately for Bosh, The Punters had Simon Atkins and Glenn Jeffery both firing, and the Punters continue to look like a genuine threat near the top.
